Month of November - WISH Team Walkers and Runners

Vicky - The new shoes are FOundations. Never heard of tehm, but they have a wider nid sole adn toe box, so help that a lot. They also seem to be alittle less squishy. DOn't love that , but I think that helps my orthdics work better.

Frank - Yes, we must get the miles in while the weather's good. WHile it's supposed to dive this week, I still think it shoudl eb our best ever conditions for 18.

Megan - Woo hoo! An unexpected WISH meet. how fun!!!

Maura - Hope teh swim adn new shoes work wonders!

Jackie - Please don't push those legs too ahrd. A B2B with the second being a race is tough. Even when you tell yourself the race is a trainign run, your body adn mind don't always listen when teh adrenaline gets going.

OK, did my 8 at non-hilly Kensington Thursday. ;) Here's the elevations of the route. The loop is really 8.5, but we parked near the top of the worst hill, so we coudl walk it when 8 were done. Of course, teh progream to get thsi is on my new DROID and I forgot to turn it off, so ignore wat's after the 8.5 and my speed/ :p

Any more debate on hlliness? (Maura - You kow, the fact you don't consider it hilly means you are super woman, right? I'm just jealous)

Wish we had realized that 8 at my parents Thursday meant 24 miles on that course from you-know-where in 4 days. not our brightest move. After shoping all day Friday on those itred legs, Saturday's 45 min still seemed hard. Much better today and my legfs will eb happy to be on our home course again.

Wow! End of another month - hard to believe it's almost December. I was out running on the weekend. Did an 8 miler and a 2 miler. Also got a massage in :) The running was so-so, I think I was still recovering from a tough gym/weights workout last Thursday. Felt good mentally but the speed wasn't there. Oh well.

Maura - I may buy a jacket if I see a good deal. I'm going to register for a 30K at the end of March. Which means I have to train in Jan/Feb (ugh!). Hopefully there are some good deals out there.

Carrie - I haven't heard of those shoes either. Maybe the lack of squishiness will take some getting use to.

Jackie - Congrats on the PR!

mla1977 - Very cool that you ran into another WISHer :)

Frank - Hope the warm weather holds out for you. Last weekend, I ran in shorts. I think that was the last weekend this year.

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

I've been reading along but not sure if I've even posted this month and the month is over today! Where did that go?

Hubby and I did our 7 miles yesterday. We are walking 3 running 1 (minutes, not miles, lol). And keeping a decent pace, so we won't get swept and will have time for photos. This is our first Disney race and we want to enjoy it, not go out for a PR! Our dd, did the Philly 1/2 the week before and wow, was I impressed. Her first 'official' 1/2 and she did 2:07! How do we go about 'updating' her time for Disney so she can run with her pace group?

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Four day weekends go way to fast. Just over five weeks til we head to Disney!!! Cannot wait!

Okay, I give. My body apparently wants me to get a message. I went to the track tonight with DH for what was supposed to be a 4-5 mile run including 4 800-meter laps at race pace. We started out on the warmup run, and my calves immediately cramped. No matter what I did, they wouldn't let up. I was determined to get at least 3 miles in, even if I had to walk, so I tried a R1/W1. At the end of 2 miles, my ankle hurt, my shins ached, and I was limping. I figured 2 miles was enough and called it a night. I think my body heard me thinking about doing B2B runs the weekend of the Victory Junction half and decided to give an opinion! :lmao: I guess I need to scale back my training plans a little...

Got in some good steps this weekend. Must have been the virtual turkey trot to start things off for me. Did absolutely nothing today. (due to outpatient endoscopy) Oh wait, I did do something. I did my Monday cyber shopping. DH's Garmin finally failed, he had my old one. So we're doing it again. I get the new and he gets the hand-me-down. Isn't life wonderful!
