Montego Bay - Doctor's Cave Beach opinions

We are a group of 21 people (10 adults, 11 kids ages 6-12) and for the Falmouth stop we're having trouble deciding what to do. The group is thinking about getting a transport to Montego Bay and just hanging out at Doctor's Cave Beach for the day. Has anyone done that? How long is the drive from Falmouth to Montego Bay? It says 37 mins. on Google maps but I've heard longer. Can anyone recommend a nice, public beach in Falmouth? The all-inclusive day passes are a little too expensive for some in our group.
