Montauk point restaurants?

Does anyone know any good inexpensive places to eat at Montauk Point? Me and DD want to do a little day trip Rachel Ray style!

I have, many times, but I can't remember any of the places that I've eaten at. Always stop for seafood though.

I don't know if this is any help though, there is a little clam bar on 25A in Northport that's good. Maybe you could stop there on your way out or back from Montauk.

I love to eat at Grossman's. It's not all that cheap but they have takeout and you can sit outside under the umbrellas and watch the fishing boats come in.


I think Lunch (Lobster Roll) can be cheaper too... Rachel Ray ate there during her show on the Hamptons.



Who's the Disser that has the "Meet me in Montauk" picture in their signature? Maybe they can pop over to answer.

Sorry, but I haven't been there in about 12 years, so anything that I knew is woefully out of date.

I haven't been there in 30 years! I do remember going to a place for seafood that was all the way at the end of Montauk, right on the water and I remember it was good. But since it has been so many years I konw I am of no help, sorry.

Last time I was out there, we ate in Riverhead and I can't even tell you the name of the place. I'm thinking it was the Lobster Pot, awesome place on the river.

Enjoy your day in Montauk. I love getting a clear day and seeing Block Island across the water from the Point. Spent 10 days there and earned 4 credits of Lab Science, so the view is sentimental!

Thanks for all the replys! I was thinking of going to Lunch, the place Rachel Ray went to on her show, for lunch! Then for dinner a nice casual seafood place, I just don't know where! I haven't been to Montauk in over 15 years!

Now that you mention it, Jerry and the Mermaid sounds vaguely familiar. I was back on LI for a few weeks while we were waiting for our house to be finished. My mom and sister took me and then 2yo son out to Riverhead for the outlets and all the farm stands. I ate way more shellfish than I should have that day (iodine allergies), but it was soooooo good. They had an amazing spicy clam chowder.
