Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue

Hi Guys

I was surfing the Disneyland website, and came across this new attraction in Hollywood pictures backlot in DCA. I played the little game and got a code to enter at VMK. Does anyone know what this is? I also wonder if anyone knows what day the Monsters Inc ride opens, as the internet says opening late January, and i am there from the 21st till the 24th of January. I am really hoping that it will be open, as Monsters, Inc. is my favourite Pixar/Disney film.

Please tell me its open

Right now it is in soft opening and I think it opens on Jan 18th. I hope others chime in.

We were at DLR from 12/26 until 1/1 and the attraction was having soft openings the entire time we were there. We rode it 7-8 times at least.

We were the yesterday and rode it. Very cute ride. We were going to ride it today, but we were meeting someone and the line was longer than our time frame.

Official opening is Jan 23, but they are doing soft openings now. I've been on it 3 times. It's very cute.

We will be there 1/20-22, and official opening is 1/23. Does anybody know if they stop the soft opening a few days prior to the official opening?? I'll be so disappointed, but it will just make us come back that much sooner!!

They would only close it to get ready for a press event.....but I haven't heard about one planned.Even that wouldn't take the whole day.
Tim, VMK stands for "virtual Magic Kingdom" a new computer game (free) that is very popular. We have an entire board devoted to it in our list of forums. If you don't want the code someone there will! They use them to buy and decorate their virtual rooms etc.

Thanks, Judy. Monsters, Inc. is my favorite movie, and I can't wait to ride the ride! If only they were put WWTBAM back, I'd never leave that area!

Rode it last night, sooo cute!! Friday night, 6pm with park closing at 8pm there was a posted 60 minute wait but it only took 35 minutes. We thought it was worth our time, would like to ride it again. There are no fast passes and the CM told me it is not planed to be a fast pass ride.

YAY!! I am going to be there the 21st - 24th as well. I know where to avoid on the 23rd when there is a press event.

VMK is a free online website that allows other people to explore a virtual model of the real park. the code is for when you log in type it in at the chair button thing and click where it says codes. type in the code to get a free door teleporter from the celebration in DL for monsters inc.! if you were wondering. LOL
