Monsters, Haunted Houses, Scare Zones and more. HHN 30 fun trip.

I saw the Usher on the Throne each time I went through ICONS. Guess it was just timing.

After we finished with Icons David asked if we wanted to look at the entry to Tooth Fairy and of course we did.

I had seen the house last year and thought the exterior reminded me of one of those pop up greeting cards. It was very well done both inside and out.

More great installments Robo!

Some of the scenes in the Icon house remind me of ways people were killed in Saw movies.
Was there ever a Saw house at HHN?

I only was able to tour ToothFairy and Bride of Frankenstein last year, but Tooth Fairy was my favorite of the two!

Thank you.

Yes, there was a SAW House 2017. There was a Texas Chainsaw House at HHN 26 in 2016.

I only was able to tour ToothFairy and Bride of Frankenstein last year, but Tooth Fairy was my favorite of the two!

Tooth Fairy is a well done house for sure. It’s Victorian furnishing and other decorations were easily seen in the house when walking through it. The lighting was well placed to appreciate the interior of that house.

After a quick look at the exterior of Tooth Fairy the tour had come to an end. It was close to 3 pm. David walked the group to the VIP building located in guest services at the entrance of the park. He asked if we had any questions about the tour. He also asked if any of us would be returning to the park and only 4 of us were returning to park.

If you do not have a park ticket or an AP you cannot remain in the park after the tour.

I noticed as everyone were saying goodbye that only 3 of us out of a group of 12 people tipped David. I’am not sure if people were aware that you could and should tip the Tour guide.

If you feel that your tour guide was fantastic then of course you should tip them.

I liken it to going to a wonderful steak restaurant and having had an exceptional meal. You leave a tip. This is no different.

David is a wonderful Tour Guide. If you ever have the pleasure of having him as a tour guide you are indeed fortunate.

After David had said his goodbyes to the rest of the group he went to get someone from the office to scan AP passes for those of us that decided to stay n the park. This was so we would not have to go back outside the park and come through the turnstiles.

This was so kind and thoughtful of him to do this.

After the AP’s were scanned we went back out the guest services door in to the park.

I decided to walk over to Diagon Alley and have a quick walk around. The plan was to eventually catch the Hogwarts Express over to IOA.

This evening was the first night of the return of the Dark Arts show in Hogwarts.

After getting to Diagon Alley I went to my favorite cool spot to have a seat and rest In Knockturn Alley. Diagon Alley was busy, but not terrible.

After a nice rest and a quick picture I went to King’s Cross Station to catch the Hogwarts Express to Hogsmeade.....It was really busy. I had almost decided to leave and walk out of the park over to IOA, but I was deep enough now into King’s Cross Station so I decided to wait it out.

I was spoiled to having my own car during the 2020. We were back to being squished like sardines into the train like before.

I remember when the Hogwarts Express was first opened. They would only put families together in each train compartment. Of course now with the amount of people who visit the WWOHP that would not work in getting people through.

After arriving in Hogsmeade I took a look around and it was packed with people. So I decided to leave the area for a quick walk around. After a couple pictures of the entrance I walked out of the back of Hogsmeade by the Castle and over the bridge.

It was starting to mist a little. I had my rain poncho, but I wanted to hold off putting it on as it was so humid and warm.

I walked into the Jurassic Discovery Center and had a look around.

As I walked near The Hulk it started to rain harder. So out came the poncho. I decided to stop at Confisco Grille for dinner. Just after I gave my name and walked through the door the heavens opened up and it rained buckets.

more to come.

I asked to be seated in the AP dining room upstairs when I stopped at the check in desk at Confisco Grille. It’s the Navigators Club dining room. During AP appreciation days the upstairs dining room is open to AP holders.

I have read that some AP holders were still being seated there after AP appreciation days were over. That was nice of universal to continue that option for AP holders.

I was asked if I wanted indoor or outdoor seating. I chose indoor as I wanted a little reprieve from the humidity. I was seated at a two seat table near the window. The dining room was not overly busy upstairs.

There is outdoor seating in a nice size dining area to the right and seating in an area to the left outdoor balcony that is protected by the roof. So even though it was raining hard you are completely safe from getting wet.

My waiter was kind and attentive.

I ordered a Coke Zero and for my meal the chicken
Quesadilla, chips and pico de gallo.

While I was waiting for my meal a YouTube vlogger came in and was seated at the table in front of me facing me. She was vlogging her experience at Confisco Grille.

My younger sister had told me she had seen a vlogger on YouTube talking about the Ghoul juice cocktail a few days ago when my niece was here. So my niece and I ordered it on the night of our RIP Tour.

My sister told me what the vloggers name was so I looked her up on YouTube.

I talked to her a little. She was a very nice young lady.

The chicken quesadilla was served hot and came with sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo. I ordered a small side of chips. They were nice, crisp and warm and came with a side of pico de gallo.

It was still raining out and I took my time and enjoyed my food.

While I was eating the restaurant manager was making the rounds to make sure everyone was happy with their meal. She was very kind.

After my meal I settled with my waiter and went out to take a couple pictures on the balcony.

This had been a relaxing nice meal. As well as a wonderful break from the rain and humidity.

The food was good and the service impeccable. If you haven’t been to Confisco Grille you should go.

Thank you for great trip report.
I plan to remember this next year for the VIP Tour Daylight event…

Your welcome. So glad you enjoyed it. Yes, do remember for next year. You would enjoy it. It adds so much to the houses. Having the extra information on each house on the tour and seeing all the details in the light of day does bring them to life.

Looks like it is Sold Out for this year.

This year has been a very different year for the Unmasking the Horror Tour then in years past. I would usually wait until about a month out from my departure for HHN and then book my UMH Tour. This year I was almost shut out from my desired date. It has grown in popularity.

If you are wanting to attend call directly and ask if there are any openings as sometimes there are and it is not reflected as such online.

Saturday, September 18th continued

The park had emptied a little after the rain. There didn’t appear to be as many people. I would be wrong about that assumption fairly soon.

I went to Spider-Man for a ride. It was a walk on with with my EP. Then I rode KONG again. The idea was to head back to a Hogsmeade from the back way through Jurassic Park go over the bridge and scout a good spot to watch the DARK Arts show on the Castle.

This was the first night of the Dark Arts show.

It was about 6:45 as I approached the cut to the left that would lead to the bridge in Hogsmeade. A TM was directing everyone to go right to the opened walkway that would lead into the Lost Continent. They were not allowing anyone to enter Hogsmeade the back way in preparation for the Dark Arts show.

As I approached Hogsmeade I found out that the rain had not chased everyone away. It was packed.

There was a long line for the Butterbeer cart and the line for the Hogshead Pub was out the door.

I walked to the stage where the Frog Choir performs and found a little space to have a seat. It started to rain a little more now and I was so glad for the rain poncho I was wearing. It was long enough to cover me and my small cloth backpack and provided a dry area to sit on.

The TM’s were directing everyone to move forward towards the Castle. It was crowded.

Some information to make sure you enjoy the Dark Arts show to the fullest.

There are 2 shows a night. The first show is always more crowded.

The stage for the Death Eaters is in front of The Three Broomsticks. At the beginning of the show there will be a short burst of green fireworks behind Three Broomsticks. Then the Death Eaters come out. They will be on the stage first then they will come out into the audience.

If you are forward near the Castle to watch the show on the Castle you will miss this.

So my best advice is to do one do one of two things. Watch the Castle show first then hang back by 3 Broomsticks for the next showing and watch the Death Eaters then leave or you can see the Death Eaters first and then watch the next Castle show.

Universal did a wonderful job with Hogwarts Castle. I always enjoy taking photos of the Castle and always enjoy looking at everyone else’s photos of the a Castle. It would have been amazing If they had created the Great Hall for dining.

One can only hope that they extend the WWOHP.

After the show my plan was to hang back and see the Death Eaters at the beginning of the next show, but I was to tired and wet from a very long day.

It was time to leave.

I made my way out of the park and back to the boat.

We were a soggy crew on the boat heading back to Portofino. Everyone looked as wet and tired as I was.

After I returned to my room I took a nice long bubble bath then got ready for bed called my sweet hubby with the day’s activities and then I was fast asleep.

Wow...those pictures of the light show on the castle 😍🤯. They are amazing!!!

That minion shirt is very much my style!!!! I loved that one!

I'm sure the bubble bath felt wonderful after your busy day.

You have a great eye for capturing those pictures!

Really appreciate you sharing with us.

Thank you Mac. Your so welcome Mac. I’am enjoying reliving my trip. I hope the pictures help you and others who see them remember their trips to Universal again.

I’am so glad you are enjoying the pictures of the Castle Pumpkin. Universal really does a nice job with the light shows on the Castle.

That Minion shirt was so cute. I was tempted to buy it.

Bubble baths are my go to after a long day in the park.

Sunday, September 19th

I slept well last night. Did not hear a peep. I was tired after the long day on Saturday. I had a great time on the UMH Tour and rounded out the evening with the Dark Arts show on the Castle.

I put on my swim suit, swim cover and pants. Packed my pack with pool things and went down to Starbucks in the piazza for my morning coffee.

4C769FCD-0008-466B-9EF0-CEB6EEBD545D.jpeg
I enjoyed my coffee then I was off to the Villa Pool. There was no one there. So I went in the pool for a few laps. After my swim I pulled out my book and had a nice time relaxing time by the pool enjoying my book and a cocktail. After 3 hours at the pool it was time to go.

I like the Villa Pool.
D82704E1-138E-4A03-B03B-10DD45B51837.jpeg

I left the pool and went to the Bar (Splendido) at the beach pool and ordered a Coke Zero and a Turkey Club and fruit to go.

I went up to my room and after a nice bath I enjoyed half of my sandwich and fruit. The sandwiches are big and very filling. They are cut In half. The rest went into the Refrigerator.

I was reading and working on my trip report when the it started raining buckets. It was about 3:30 pm.

I took a nice nap.

I woke up at 5 pm and looked out. It was already drying off outside and the rain had stopped. I decided to go to IOA for a short walk then to Studios.

After a nice ride on the water taxi I headed into IOA.

I stopped to look look around the Christmas Trees in the shop to the right in the Port of Entry.

I enjoy looking at the the trees. The Quidditch Tree is my favorite. I noticed there were a number of new ornaments since I had last looked in July.
