f I remember correctly there was a house in 2018 called “Dead Exposure: Patient Zero” That had excessive strobe light effects and loud sirens and noise

I remember that one! But only after you mentioned it. lol You have quite a memory for all the different houses over the years.

Sunday, September 11th continue.

After we finished the Universal Monsters: Legends Collide house we went back to La Bamba for a rest and some drinks.

I will have to stay Avalon really thought about the making sure the tour was comfortable as she could make it.

After the rest stop at La Bamba we headed back to the the back area of the park to hit the last two houses “Bugs Eaten Alive“ and “Descendants of Destruction”.

By now my leg was hurting pretty bad. I decided I would end the tour for me before we headed back to the the last two houses. I thanked Avalon and gave her a tip. She was a lovely young lady. She told me to ask for her if I did the tour next year. I will remember that as she was a wonderful Tour Guide.

I had been through “Descendants of Destruction” already and I would do the “Bugs Eaten Alive“ house another time.

It was almost 1 am and I was willing myself to keep on moving. I did stop in the Graveyard: Deadly Unrest Scare Zone for a rest and to watch the Scare Actors. This continued to be a favorite of mine.

I made it to the boat dock and caught the water taxi back to Portofino Bay. It was 1:30 am when I got back to the room and I did not want to make any noise, but I needed a good soak in the tub.

After a nice bubble bath I got into my pajamas and it was lights out for me.

Monday, September 12th

We had a restful morning. My sister and I slept in a little this morning. We decided to go over to the Mall at Millenia for a look around and lunch at the CheeseCake Factory. I didn‘t take any photos at the the Mall.

We had lunch and did look into a few shops then back to Portofino for a rest.

I was still a little tired from the Tour.




Thought I would take a quick detour from the trip report and share some pictures from my annual Halloween Party I do every year for my family.

The cutest Captain Jack Sparrow arrived. This is my great Nephew J.




The treat table is always a hit with everyone.

















I made a big pot of chili with all the fixins and mummy dogs, skull pizzas, avocado dip, salsa and taco chips and a nice fruit tray.

My sister took the kiddos Trick or Treating and we had the nicest time enjoying each other’s company and all the goodies.



The pizza skulls turned out good, but were a little time consuming to make.

I've made pizza skulls the last three Halloweens for our annual parties and I think I might skip them going forward. They're such a pain to make! Yours turned out a lot better than mine did, but I was running behind and tired and cut some corners lol.

I looked online for the pan and it is one of the heavy coated nonstick Nordic Ware pans that have the 6 skulls. It worked wonderfully and really helped keep the shape of the skull face. The only problem with this pan is the pizzas have to bake for 30 minutes.

I found that the pizza dough has to be kept really cold. I bought the pre-made pizza dough.

Your right it is a bit of a pain to make and time consuming. I think if I make them again I will get another pan so I can make twice as many at a time.

The skulls can be baked earlier in the day and then warmed up before serving If needed.

Don’t give up. Keep experimenting.

Tuesday, September 13th

We decided to go to Disney Springs today. Both my sisters, my older one D and my younger sister K who is on this vacation with me is are big Disney fans.

We got ready and out the door we went. We took what I call is the back way to Disney Springs down Turkey Lake Road.

Thankfully the Lime garage was opened. The lime garage is closer to the front of Disney Springs. It is closest to the big Disney Store “World of Disney”.

An interesting thing is people entering Disney Springs from the garage still have to walk a bit out of the way around metal barriers to go through security to get to the escalators and elevators to enter Disney Springs. These are the same measures that were in place during covid.

Once we were through security we went down the escalators and started our fun day at Disney Springs. I think it was about noon when we arrived.

I wanted to mention Disney Springs has really changed over the years. It has grown by leaps and bounds. There are more shops, restaurants then what was there many moons ago.



There was a store if I remember correctly called Lovepop that had really cute pop up cards.











Then we walked through the Coach and Kate Spade store. We were in no hurry today. It was getting pretty warm out and the sun was out in force.

We took a stroll through the Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories




I had heard about the Sprinkles Cupcake shop and we walked through there. I did not see anything I would buy in there. I’am not a big sweets fan, but they had some interesting flavors.

I wanted to take my sister to Gideon’s Bakehouse. My niece and I went last year. I really like this place. It is like a creepy haunted little library. There was a line, but it was not very long. We decided to wait it out as the line was moving pretty quick.

The Gideon’s employees that were standing outside the shop were handing out cards with the flavors of cookies inside to purchase and they were very nice and personable.

They also sell specially flavored cakes and coffee’s.

They sell these little cards. This one was fun.


One of the employees outside at Gideon‘s offered to take a photo of my sister K and I. She said she loves coming to Disney Springs and spending the day with her sister too. That was so nice of her.



We bought a few of the cookies to sample. We bought one of the Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip, Chocolate chip Banana Bread, Coffee Cake and the Limited edition cookie.

The cookies are huge and easily shared. They will keep nicely in cool place.

They wrap and box the cookies nicely.

Oh how I love Gideon’s!! I do have a very big sweet tooth and I enjoy baked goods slightly underbaked, which they have mastered that texture. Isn’t that the best: getting so many of their treats to nibble on for days? Such a unique, fun atmosphere in there. We’ve also always had top-notch customer service there! Loving your flowing report.
