Friday, September 16th continued

After a look around Voodoo Donuts I went over and walked around the big Universal Store in CityWalk. This bigger store is really set up nice. All of the Halloween HHN merchandise was set up to the right inside the store.

Universal has really done a magnificent job over the past few years in increasing the merchandise on offer for HHN. The past couple of years has really seen exploded and there is something for everyone.

There was a candy and popcorn display. The colors were vibrant and very Halloween for sure.









My favorite was the Wolfman Gummy Fangs

I did not get how this rhinestone mask fit into HHN merchandise until I went through the Weekend House.




There was a lot of Halloween merchandise for sale this year. I know someone who is very fond of Mikey.










Little Boo merchandise was very popular too.





I was tempted by this Lil Boo crossbody.



After I was done looking around the store it was time to head over to the Studios.

Your welcome Mac. They really had a wonderful nostalgic Halloween selection of merchandise and decorations with cats included this year. You cannot have Halloween without cats for sure.









I liked this picture of the the flying Witch with her Cat in the Halloween Boutique.

The Banners that decorate the lamp posts on the bridge leading to The Studios are bright and fun.





I’am not sure why, but more often than not I always turn right and go into Hollywood when I enter The Studios. I always stop in and have a look around the Five & Dime. I do like the Universal Monsters always on display.







The Scarecrow Stalk vignette was interesting.



This year there were a lot of different shirts to choose from.


The Artist Series Merchandise was nice.

I did buy this Artist Series cup. I bought the one from last year. These are well made good quality cups that do a great job of keeping your liquids hot or cold.

This Micheal Myers wallet was awesome. I bought one of these.








The artwork as the wallet was unfolded was awesome.

And of course after you purchased the walled you need the backpack.

A T-shirt

And a hat.


All the Halloween merchandise was displayed very nicely. For the Halloween Micheal Myers fans this was a banner year for merchandise.

Two pieces of merchandise that caught my eye were the Dracula and Frankenstein purses.










Can you guess which one I bought? It was what inspired the start of this trip report.

I will typically look around over the time I’am at HHN and if there is HHN merchandise I like I will take note were the merchandise was and go back and get it. Not every store carries everything.

I attend HHN over a period of days and there is no rush to buy things and I don’t want to carry anything around. You have the option of having merchandise sent to your Resort room if you are staying a number of days so that helps.

After I was done looking around the Five & Dime I crossed the street to have a look in the AP Holders lounge to see what they had for HHN.

Friday, September 16th continued

Had to have a picture walking through the Graveyard: Deadly Unrest Scare zone.


I had wanted to get one of these Burning Skull drinks during HHN and never made it over to get one during the event.





There was plenty seating for folks to eat after they purchased their food. I did not notice it during HHN.



Then I walked through Scarecrow: Cursed Soil. I like this Scare Zone.

After walking through the Scare Zone I wanted to go over to ET. I always make sure to ride ET when I’am at Universal.

I passed some of the food booths on the way to ET. Universal has really up their game with the food booths. The exterior decorations on the booths were really cool. The fact that they have increased the number of booths is awesome.

I hope Universal keeps ET forever it is a classic.

I enjoyed my ride on ET then had a look around the store.






These backpacks were so cute.


The stuffed ET in the basket was new and it was cute.


I remember the Speak & Spell. I was tempted to buy one for my little great-nephew.

Thursday, September 15th

We decided another pool day was in order. We had been here a week today. It always feels like the first couple of days move in slow motion. Then as days progress it feels like time is moving lightening fast.

I’am always so thankful to be able to travel to Universal for wonderful trips with my family. I don‘t feel rushed and really do enjoy the Resorts.

I went over to Starbucks in the piazza and picked up some coffee for my sister and I.

We decided to sample some cookies from Gideon’s.

The cookies keep well in your cool room.

Gideon’s cookies are pretty tasty, but I could not eat one of these on my own. I think they are best sampled in small pieces as they are huge and rich. I noticed the cookies had large salt and sugar granules in them this time which I had not noticed before. I did not like them as much as I had when I went last year.

After our coffee and a few bites of cookie it was time to get into our swimsuits and pull our pool things together and head to the pool.

We decided on the Villa Pool again. They have a large pitcher container with fruit water once you enter. We stopped for some fruit water and picked up our lounge towels and regular towels and found some loungers.

It was a beautiful sunny day. A perfect day to be at the pool.

At around 1 pm we decided to order some lunch.

We ordered some nacho’s. I had never seen so much sour cream on their nacho’s before. It was a bit to much, but we snacked on them a little. I do like the food from Splendido‘s especially their club sandwiches.

After a couple of hours the Pool Staff came around with frozen grapes for the pool guests to enjoy.

I do like the pools at the Resorts. The Portofino‘s Beach and Villa Pools are my favorite. Followed by the pool at Sapphire Falls.

The Portofino Bay holds some very special memories for me. My grandchildren and I stayed here a lot when I would bring them for vacation. I will have to say it is one of my favorite Resorts. It is a beautiful Resort. I have always felt at home as soon as I arrive. I do enjoy the Staff there. They are awesome, kind and helpful.

I also stay at Sapphire Falls sometimes. It is a beautiful Resort and the Staff there are fantastic.

I have stayed at the Royal Pacific a few times. It is a beautiful Resort and the Staff there are very nice and welcoming.

Universal has a Resort for every budget.

At about 3 pm the dark clouds started rolling in so we decided to head back to the room. We took turns in the bathroom and I put on some comfy clothes covered up with my Potter blanket and I was off for a nap.

When I woke up I looked over at my sister in her bed and she was still sleeping.

I went out on the balcony and I could see the Water Taxi loading for a trip to CityWalk. It started sprinkling.

My sister woke up and we called our hubby’s to check in and make sure all was well back home.

We decided to go over to Sal’s for pizza. It was not busy. We were able to get a booth our pizza did not take long. Sal’s pizza is very good.

We decided to go to HHN and do a couple of houses. We did not want to stay long at HHN tonight.

We did the Halloween House and Dead Man‘s Pier: Winter‘s Wake.

We caught the Water Taxi back to Portofino and were glad to be back to our room by 11pm.

After a nice bubble bath it was lights out for me.




Going to switch to real time. I went out in the back yard this evening to see the SpaceX Rocket go Up. You can see a fiery orange ball of light that lights the sky for miles as it rises over the houses.

PBH is so glorious! We have good memories there as well, especially since we stayed there during our first trip at Universal. Your wonderful report makes me want to stay there again soon.

It is so cool. I have yet to visit the other shop in Orlando. I love the pictures of the little Vampires in there especially this one.

I always tell people there is a Resort for everyones taste at Universal Orlando. I‘am so glad to hear you like Portofino as well. It is really a special place for me and our grandchildren.

HHN has really grown since even I started attending. The merchandise and food booth choices have Increased significantly.

I wonder who has the fun job of creating the treats and naming them.

Friday, September 16th continued

I must confess I enjoyed looking at the food booths and taking photos of the different interesting foods on offer. More often then not it was raining or misting on the nights we attended and we had already had a nice sit down meal before hand.

Lines were long for the booth food on the nights we attended. We finally purchased a Little Boo sip cup and the line was long to get that and they only had 2 left when we purchased ours.

I have plans to be more adventurous this coming HHN.

This booth was in Springfield.














They had booths that were strictly cocktail oriented too.

The food booths for HHN are closed during the day before HHN starts. Not sure if it is a staffing issue, but I think the HHN food booths might do ok selling food during the day like they do at Mardi Gras.









This was a nice photo op for folks.



Now it was time to head over to Diagon Alley. Of course I had to stop and say hi to Kreacher.










I do enjoy taking photos in the Potter Parks. I never get tired of visiting. I also enjoy seeing all the new Potter merchandise they come up with.
