Anyone know approx how long the monorail ride is from MK to Epcot. We have dinner reservations at Epcot but are planning on spending our first day at MK. We haven't rode the monorail since 1997 so I can't remember how long it takes.

Thanks!

I could post this on the parks forum, but since we are all so knowledgable here, I figured someone would know :)

You would take two monorails. One from MK to TTC and one from TTC to Epcot.

Other options:

Take ferry boat to TTC and monorail from TTC to Epcot.

Take boat to Fort Wilderness and bus to Epcot.

Take bus to Caribbean Beach then bus to Epcot

All would take 30-40 minutes if there was no appreciable crowds and waits at each stop. Crowds can increase that substantially.

As a typical 'Cheap Dutchman' here. We have non expiry 10 entry tickets with no park hopper. If we were to have a dinner reservation at Epcot, would our entry into MK count to allow us in for dinner? Or do we have to buy another entry?

If you do not have the Park Hopper option enabled on your Magic Your Way Tickets, you will need to either purchase it or purchase a seperate Park Admission in order to visit Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot on the same day.

It is not permitted to use multiple "days" on multi-day tickets to crossover between the Theme Parks on the same day.

Nope. You need valid admission to any park you intend to dine at. Without park hopping you could not gain enterance to Epcot if you already used your single park ticket at MK. You could dine at any of the resort restaurants the same day though.

Another option would be to take a bus to an Epcot resort (Swan/Dolphin, Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach Club) and walk to the International Gateway (back) entrance. It is usually a very pleasant 5-10 min walk, and consider that it can take 15 min to walk from the front entrance of Epcot to to the world showcase. We did the monorail from MK to Epcot WS once and it took an hour:scared1: including the walk around to WS, which is why I would hesitate to do that.

What restaurant are your reservations at? I'm assuming world showcase, but if not monorail may work.

What is TTC? I'm sure there used to be a monorail from MK that went right to Epcot?

We're staying at the CBR so I know the bus ride from there is only 10 mins max but I thought it would be faster to monorail it?

TTC is Transportation and Ticket Center. (Where the MK parking lot is). The monorail goes from MK to TTC and then you need to get off and catch the Epcot monorail, and this is what can hold things up.

Guess it's been a while since we rode it since I don't remember having to get off & then get on another monorail? Maybe we'll just head back to our room first & freshen up & then head to Epcot.

My only comment is to allow plenty of extra time. The monorail breaks down from time to time. We were sweating bullets on the orange train when it stopped for +25 minutes -- we made it to our resort with less than 5 minutes to spare to catch Disney's Magical Express to the airport.
