The day before my WDW vacation begins will have a small amount of pixie dust because I will be taking my honey and her mom to the GF for the Afternoon Tea. From there, we plan on taking a tour of the other Monorail resorts and their Christmas decorations.

Has anyone ever done this? What would be the next stop on the Monorail? What order are the resorts on the Monorail?

I have no clue about the Monorail resorts. I have only stayed in the value resorts, so this will be an interesting chance to see how the other half "does" WDW. TIA Maggie

We just did this the night before Thanksgiving!

Actually we went to look at the WL, AKL, Boardwalk, Poly, GF and we were staying at the CR. If you are at the GF for tea, just jump on the monorail and get off at the next resort and look around, then jump on again, and off at the next (just stay on when you get to the TTC) - however, the CR and the Poly Xmas decorations are not much to look at IMHO! It's fun to check them out though, and if you've never stayed at these be sure to walk all around and look at the pools, etc.

The GF tree and huge gingerbread house is wonderful and also the trees at the WL and AKL (these 2 not on the monorail though)- we hopped on the resort launch (boat) from the back of the CR direct to the WL and looked, then walked out to the WL bus stop and picked up a bus to the AKL. There are signs at the bus stops at each hotel telling you which bus to use to get to where you want to go!

Forgot to add:
When you leave the GF, the monorail stops at the MK (don't get off), then to the CR (get off there, go to the right and down the escalator or use the elevator down to the main floor with the shops and restaurants or on down to the lobby, then back up to get back on the monorail when you're done looking), then the TTC (don't get off), then the Poly (get off and walk in to look around, then down the stairs to the pools, etc., then back up to climb back on the monorail) then it goes to the GF again. If you want to look at the others, you'll need to grab a Disney bus just past the front of any of the resorts or take a resort launch to the WL - it's really worth taking the time and seeing both the WL and AKL! Just make sure with the driver that you're getting on the right bus, and know that some make a couple stops along the way so don't get worried!

Thanks so much for the input! I can't wait to see all the decorations. My mother outlaw is not much on walking stamina. So, I imagine once we have seen all the decorations around the monorail that we will drive to AKL & WL to see those. I will just have the car valet parked to let her enjoy the decorations and of course the gift shops. lol Maggie

Enjoy the tour!

Two years ago we stayed at WL and then toured the monorail resorts CR, GF, & Poly for Christmas decorations and just to check out the resorts. It was fun. The WL is beautifully decorated so if you can drive or boat over to see it! I also agree CR & Poly are not as beautifully decorated as WL & GF but its still fun to have a look around if you have not been there.
