Monorail question

I figured this would be the best place to ask -- does anyone know if they still allow people to ride in the conductor's car on the monorail? I'm not sure if they changed this after those accidents a few years ago. Thanks!

This is no longer allowed.

Only the driver is allowed in the front car.

From what I understand, they no longer allow this. I always wanted to ride in the conductor's cab but it was always already taken by another guest each time we tried. But I can see why they might not allow this anymore after the accident.

True- no more guests in the from cab.
We just got back last night from our trip. No guests. I did see a few people ask and they were told no.

I understand the why of this, but it really makes me sad. Riding in the front of the monorail was one of my favorite WDW things to do! I'm really going to miss that.

I agree that it make sense to discontinue for safety, but it was great while it lasted. The 1st year we went to WDW, we visited Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and AK. After we returned home, if anyone asked my DD3 (at the time) her favorite thing about her 1st trip to Disney, her answer was always - riding the monorail. Maybe because we rode it so much that trip and many times up front, but it was her best memory of the entire trip.

They still permit guests to ride with the pilot on the Disneyland monorails.

It has been two years since the last guest rode up-front. I do not see it happening any time in the foreseeable future.
