How is the ride on the monorail at the end of the park day? What time does the monorail stop for the night? I will be in Disneyland in May and I have tried taking the monorail to Disneyland from the hotel before which is not worth it but what about riding it back? I normally stay at GCH but am looking into something cheaper such as DH but I am dreading the walk back after having walked all day in the park. I swear the walk back to the hotel is 10x longer than the walk to the park. Also if you can suggest a good time at the end of the day to ride it back that would be great. I am thinking the wait might be shorter during fireworks or a parade like the wait for rides are, is that correct?

I would assume the monorail runs as long as the park is open and that they would allow guests to get in line to ride up until closing as they do with most other rides. I've never tried to get on the monorail at that time of night though. I know a popular strategy is for people to get in line for a ride like RSR about 5 minutes before closing because they let everyone in the queue ride the ride before shutting it down for the night.
