Monorail Pins

While we were at Disney last week, on the last day, DS8 decided he wanted to start pin collecting/trading. We are going back next year, so I thought this would be a good idea. He could start collecting over the year and have several to trade with next year. He is completely enthralled with the monrails and saw a cast member that had just about every color or monorail pin there was. I thought this would be a great idea for his birthday which is in September. I could buy several monorail pins to start his collection.I didn't buy any while we were there because I thought I could find them online (Ebay, Disney shopping). I haven't had much luck. Anyone have any ideas? Let me know.

I guess my blonde roots just came out. When looking on Ebay, I spelled monorail incorrectly. That is why I couldn't find any pins. They have hundreds now that I spelled it correctly. Sorry for the post!

No worries, see if you can find the one with the 25th Epcot Anniversary. I just got that one on Ebay last week.

Just a thought -- if he wants to trade pins, then you might want to buy some cheap ones that he doesn't really like. If you are searching for specific ones to collect and just buy them, then he might not want to break up his collection by trading them.

FYI - pins bought at The Disney Store are also tradeable in the parks. Our TDS has had pins on clearance and while I think we recently sold out, the prices were rock-bottom so that might be an option if you have a TDS near you. I haven't checked the website but those same older pin designs might be on clearance online too. They are great for trading since they are so cheap and you can buy a bunch of identical ones so he won't feel like he's giving away a favorite when he starts trading.
