monorail in epcot?

If my DH and I stay at BWI, do we have to walk in epcot to take it to MK? I don't plan on buying park hoppers so we won't be able to go inside. I know the monorail was outside of the gates at MK.

There's no way to walk to the Epcot monorail from BWI without entering Epcot, and you will need a park hopper to do that, if you're headed to MK.

The good news is, there's a direct bus from BWI to the MK.

Take the bus, it's a lot easier. The only Epcot monorail stop is outside the park. It's quite a walk from the Boardwalk.

Bus is definitely going to be best strategy.

IF you wanted to take the monorail from DW to MK, you would need to walk through the gates at the World Showcase, walk out the main gate, take one monorail from Epcot to the Ticket and Transportation Center, THEN switch to a different monorail to the MK. Not as easy as most people think it is/should be.

I agree that it's a lot better and faster to take the Bus from the Boardwalk to the Magic Kingdom.

If you are really keen to ride a monorail, just for the sake of riding one (they are almost an attraction for some people) then take a mid-day break and ride the resort monorail around the lagoon. It takes about 30 minutes on average.

But from BWI, take the bus to MK. The Epcot resorts get a bad rap for transportation, but I use the buses and other than DTD, I haven't had any issues. I tend to have issues with DTD buses at all resorts, not just the Epcot ones (although on my BWV trip earlier this month, I only waited 10 minutes for a bus to DTD and there was one waiting at the DTD stop when I was going back, so I felt very lucky). You don't have to change transportation at any point taking the bus, so you really save a lot of time over walking through Epcot to take the monorail.
