I am sure this is posted somewhere so if someone could point me in the right direction, that would be great. We just moved our ressie for next week from the Boardwalk to Bay Lake Towers. The Magic Kingdom closes at 8 and Epcot closes at 9. If we stay at EPCOT until Illuminations ends, what time will the monorail be running to get us back to Bay Lake Towers? TIA

Last summer, WDW implemented new hours for monorail service - ending service 1 hours after park closing. This was to ensure adequate "downtime" for the trains and sufficient time to address any maintenance issues.

If MK closes at 8pm, MK monorails stops at 9pm.

If EP closes at 9pm, TTC monorail stops at 10pm.

After that, buses would be in place to transport guests to their respective resorts. YMMV :confused3

Here's link to a legnthy discussion on the Theme Parks board regarding monorail service during MNSSHP:
Wait......So no monorails at MNSSHP?

Thanks for the info. I am curious about your YMMV comment. It seems that on nights MK closes before EPCOT, they would keep at least the resort monorail open for an hour past EPCOT's closing so that folks could get back to their resort via the monorail.

Oh well, we have planned around it for this trip. We did change one of our dinner reservations from Narcoossees to California Grill because I had no idea how to get back to Bay Lake Towers from the Grand Floridian without taking a cab (or hitchhiking :thumbsup2).

Yes, that would seem reasonable, but Disney's actions often defy reason.

This Tuesday & Wednesday, MK closes at 8 & Epcot closes at 9. Both the MK Express & the Resort beams close at 9; the Epcot beam closes at 10.

There have been times Disney has been inconsistent regarding the 1 hour rule. They were originally going to use the 1 hour rule (past normal closing time) regardless of EMH and hard ticket events such as MNSSHP and MVMCP but I've read reports to the contrary.

They have a bus replacing the monorail after it closes, it travels between the monorail resorts. You are never "stranded".
