Okay, So I was wondering how much you usually get paid on the CP, how often you get paid, and how the whole rent thing works(I've heard they take it straight out of your paycheck and you never see it).
I'm asking because I would like to go for the Spring 2012 semester but I will need to save money to pay car insurance, and I was wondering if I would make enough to save and to live off of while I was there.

The amount you get paid usually depends on your location and how many hours you work. This will probably range from minimum wage-a few cents more than minimum wage.

You get paid every week. You will become familiar with the phrase "Every Paycheck Comes On Thursday" ;D

The rent is taken out of your paycheck. The amount you pay for rent depends on where you choose to live (Chatham Square, Patterson Court, or Vista Way) and how many roommates you wish to have (1-8, depending on where you live). You can see where they take the rent out on your paystub because it will say...rent.

Whether or not you are able to live off the paycheck is debatable. It really depends on your personal lifestyle. If you like to eat out/eat at the parks all of the time/have a shopping habit... Then $160-$200 may not be enough for you, but if you budget wisely then it's more than enough.

I hope this helps :D

You can absolutely save/make money on the program. I've been putting a bit from each paycheck into my savings, and as of last Thursday (payday!) I've got about $200 more than when I started about 2 months ago. This is with paying rent for a 2 BR in Chatham (on the upper end of the rent scale) and holding one of the lower paid positions on the CP. I will say this though: I don't go out often (closing at Magic Kingdom :faint:), I pack my food for every shift, and I don't have a car, so no gas/insurance to pay for.

If money is your #1 priority, consider living in a 3/4 bedroom in Vista (the cheapest rent) and going for a job like QSFB or, if you can pass the audition, Character Performer, as these are on the higher end of the pay scale. Also think about riding the buses to work; yes, it puts you on their schedule, but it's another way to conserve gas. Hope this helps!

I had a $200 car payment per month, i bought a $300 tv, and i went out a lot. After all that i brought home a little over $100.

These are the roles that I wouldn't mind doing. Has anyone had them? Do you know how much the wage was? and how much rent would be taken out ever week? Thanks!

Rent depends on which complex you live in/number of bedrooms. 1-2 bedrooms are more expensive than 3-4 bedrooms, and Patterson/Chatham are more expensive than Vista (Patterson is actually a dollar more expensive than Chatham, which isn't that much of a difference). Right now, a 1-2 bedroom at Patterson is $96, while a 3 bedroom at Vista (they don't have 4 bedroom apartments) is $80, just to give you the high and low ends of the spectrum. Again, these are the prices as of RIGHT NOW. ;)

I would definitely recommend talking to your insurance agent re: your car insurance rates. DDs insurance jumped $450 for the current six month period since she has her car in Orlando. We were expecting an increase; but, not quite that much!

Oh, my car is registered in Florida anyway. I don't think that is going to change anything.

It can if you're not already living in the zip you would be - assuming you change it. I called on mine (Geico), they said I didn't have to change for an internship since it was in-state, but other companies may make you change your address leading to higher rates
