Money at WDW for tweens & teens

Hi! (I'm posting this to the Family Board too.)

HELP! I need some teen insight and advice on this . . .

I'm off to WDW for ten days at Spring Break with my own DD who will be almost 13 and her friend who is 12. I am planning to give each of the girls her own spending money for each day with which to buy food, drinks, snacks, souvenirs, etc.

Has anyone done this before? How much money did you get? I'm thinking $30.00 per day--is that too much? too little? just right? We have a few character meals and PSs scheduled but most meals will be counter service.

I think it depends on a few things. How often do you think they will eat, How many souvenirs will they want to buy, etc. I think you should probably talk to them and see what they have to say. Then after the first day sit down and look at the figure again to see how much they had left and whether it was too much or too little. But giving them their own spending money is a great idea! My mom used to do that for me and it always worked out pretty well. Just make sure they have enough in case of an emergency (That was almost a problem once). Have fun!!

but heres an something-
for a family of 4 (2 girls and 2 boys) we budget 100 bucks for food
so to over estimate 50 would be plenty for both of them to eat.

another idea(that we do alot) is charge everything to the hotel room...then instead of my parents giving me money when i go off i just charge it to the room...but its hard to tell how much you give them...so maybe nevermind

but i agree with michelle give them like say 50 bucks the first day and ask if it was too much or too little...you can always go back and buy the souvies next time you visit the park...and if you give them too much then give them less the next day
