Should I be expect to be delayed, possibly cancelled for this type of weather (flying nonstop delta) ? I've dealt with delays/cancellations due to snow. I know what I need to do if this happens, but I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself to deal with the tears from the kiddo's :(
I've never flown out of CVG before so I have no idea what its like there. I can deal with a delay, but would this weather cause my flight to be cancelled? Any thoughts?

They probably won't fly on time if it's SEVERE. But look at the forecast--CHANCE. So there's a chance it won't thunderstorm at all. Or maybe sooner or later than your flight.
And I can't imagine a flight being cancelled--delayed maybe until the storm abates, but not cancelled.

If anything you would be delayed. Last Aug. we were flying Delta non-stop out of Hartford and we were delayed on the plane about an hour before taking off because of storms in the Virginia area and we had to wait to be rerouted. We used to live in Cincinnati and used the airport years ago and we always loved that airport. We never had any problems finding our way around. Don't worry, the weather changes from day to day and the worst that will happen is a delay.

We use CVG 99% of the time for our flights. Have never had a flight cancelled due to thunderstorms. Delays have occurred but usually no more than an hour, either because a plane is delayed landing in CVG or waiting out a storm before we can take off.

You should be fine. I work at CVG, but not for the airlines. I actually for the airport board. Like the last post said, you might be delayed for about an hour. We are set up pretty good for storms. They usually only cancel flights because of the weather at your destination airport. I would not worry.

thank you all !! You've made me feel so much better about the weather...now do you think you could fix this budget thing so my husband military leave isnt cancelled???? :)

What time your flight on Monday? If it the 9:30AM flight then your gate is going to be around B2. Just remember that if your gate number is B14 or lower you will want to go right once you get off the escalator. Any gate high than B14 will be to the left.

Yes!! We are the 9:30 flight :) I'll be the one with the baby strapped to my chest and 2 other kiddo's in tow (although I'm sure there are LOTS of kids on that flight) Thanks for the tip!! I try to get to the airport early, we are coming from Louisville area so we are leaving EARLY!

We had thunderstorms here today and I had a friend flying out of CVG this morning. He said his flight was delayed about 20 minutes.
Weather forcast for late Sunday night through Monday is calling for strong to severe thunderstorms. Don't know what your forcast is but you might need extra time getting to the airport from Louisville, especially as you get closer to the N. KY area!
