the start of another week and boy is it a HOT ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gotta work today

and shop around for new car insurance

Hope you all have a Great day

I'm going school shopping with DS14 today, then we are going to the beach. We do this every summer it seems, just the 2 of us. I'll be reading and working on a swap. Together we will have TV marathons, and work on some puzzles. Our favs are tesselz, the kind where all the pieces are the same shape...We're going to see if they have any new ones.

It's going to be STINKIN' HOT here today too. Keep cool everyone!

Good Morning!!! :sunny: Today I begin to pack! I love going to Disney, but I am not a fan of packing!

Debbie, which beach are you going to and for how long? :confused3

Just working today and then more unpacking this evening. Its too hot to do almost anything else. They are calling for 100 here on Wednesday and Thursday. Ughh

It is supposed to be HOT here, too! We have spent a fun morning taking my car to the mechanic because the AC doesn't work (it stopped on Saturday, in the 95 degree weather!!). I thought it just needed charging, but no. . .the compressor is out! Fun, fun!!

It should be done this afternoon, so DH & I are just waiting around at home. I hope everyone has a terrific day! Stay cool!! :cool1:

I haven't been at work long, my DS got his black belt this morning, so we went to the ceremony. Now I get to figure out how to look busy here for a while! Here is DS receiving his belt.

Black belt!?! Congratulations to your son! That is quite an accomplishment!!

It's way too hot here. I'm trapped in the house until at least mid-afternoon because my oil guy is installing my new furnace (or at least starting to - he'll be back Friday too  ) but at least it gives me an excuse to sit down and finish my Resort swap. I'm really happy with some of my pieces and not so crazy about others. It always seems to work out that way.

I'm also taking breaks and browsing WDW restaurant menus trying to pick restaurants for my December trip! It's making me hungry and crazy with anticipation! So much great food, so little time.

Going to Bethany Beach in Delaware. I'm coming back on Thursday... :sad2:

I just got out of work for the day- I can't wait to see my students after my first day of a 2 week inservice for developing lesson units with 1 teacher per grade level.

I am trying to get myself back on central time after being in California for 17 days! I arrived home late 11:30 p.m. cdt on Saturday and our luggage was not available until midnight, so by the time we got home and into bed it was 1:30 a.m. Then up at 7 a.m. to go to visitor's day at ds's boy scout camp.

So I am really struggling today to get back to normal. It is extremely hot here--99 right now and don't know what heat index is, but imagine around 115--and I have a tremendous headache!

So, not getting a lot done!

Congrats to your DS, KAMommy. So exciting! :cool1:

We were at CHOP (Children's Hosp of Phila) this morning (at the ungodly hour of 6am!) for our DD to have a test. She appears to be fine, but it was a stressful morning. I then took a nap. :rolleyes1 Good thing my inlaws are here!

We're going to go get ice cream now to stay cool! Have a great night!

Mickster, I am glad your DD seems fine. Tests can be rough - much rougher on mom and dad!

Mickster--I'm glad your daughter is ok!

ksjayhawks--I'm glad you made it back safely from your trip! I hope your headache went away!

ddavis860--I hope your beach trip is fun!

jennyL--I hate unpacking!! I think you should just use the "it's too hot" excuse!

rlovew--I go back to work next Friday. . .I can't believe it's already time to go back!

lewdyan1--It's almost time for your Disney trip!!! You must be so excited!

KAMommy--You know I send tons of CONGRATULATIONS to your DS! Hmm. . .did you just hear me say that about 2 hours ago??

NewEnglandEeyore--I'm curious. . .where did you pick to eat???

kaylajr--good luck on the car insurance search!!

Ok, off to sleep! DH & I are going to try to get up in the morning and work out before he goes to work. Not sure that will actually happen, but the thought is there!

Our students start Aug 7th. I have 2 weeks of lesson planning with 1 person from each grade level before our regular inservice week. So 3 weeks without kids although only 2 of them are without my grade level team.

I enjoy planning and have thought about going into curriculum planning but I don't necessarily enjoy everyone I am working with and their styles of planning- with my team planning is a breeze- we crank out a week of plans in about 40 minutes or 6-7 weeks in a half day planning session.

The December trip is a long weekend with 2 of my girlfriends so right now I'm narrowing the choices down to a short list then when I see them in a couple of weeks the 3 of us will decide for certain. I'm hoping to try some new ones I haven't tried before.

I can tell you where I'm eating for my October trip if you're interested. The whole purpose of that trip is eating! ;) Last year I introduced my Dad to the wonders of Disney Dining and now he's hooked. So this year it's Boma for breakfast and dinner, Spoodles, Jiko, and Boatwright's. Plus the Food and Wine Festival of course!

Wow we start back the week before the kids (they start August 14) and the first two days back are opt days.

August 14th? My kids start back on the 28th and I thought that was early! I remember (the good ole days of my youth - you know, walking up hill to school, both ways, through the snow and rain...) starting school after labor day! :dance3:
