Monday May 31st (Memorial Day) vs. next day Tues. Jun 1st

Can anyone give me a heads up on what I would expect at Disneyland on Memorial Day? I know it will be crowded but how crowded?

As a comparision we have done WDW in early August when the crowd calendar listed the days as an 8 or 9. Does DL get busier than this? Never been. Can't wait to see the original!

How much will crowds let up on the next day if we did that day instead? What are the typical hours and fireworks schedules for these days? I checked some sites and got conflicting reports for last year's hours.

Is there a chance the park could fill to capacity on Memorial Day? Memorial day would be the best day in our vacation to go to DL for other reasons but I don't want to be so wall to wall with people that we can't even enjoy it. We know fastpass well and can make use of it but we won't know the exact layout as well even though it is close to what we are use to.

Any suggestions are SO appreciated!

Ds's birthday is the 26th, so the last two years we've gone down there and have started our vacation on the Monday holiday.

And what we've noticed is that people are on their way home on Monday. The week before gets busier and busier, as people take time off *before* the weekend to add on to their long weekend, but then they go home on the actual holiday.

That said, Tuesday is less crowded than the Monday.

But for our trips, the big entertainment has been on the weekend, not even on the Monday, so there's a definite tradeoff.

However, since this holiay is so much closer to the summer, maybe they'll have more going on into the weekdays!
