Monday at Universal in September - is Labor Day definitely on 1st September??

We had planned to go to USH on September 8th - the Monday after Labor Day. We went on a Monday last September and the park was pretty quiet so was surprised that according to the park hours on the official site, it is open 9am to 8pm on the 8th which seems long hours at that time of year - even on Labor Day it closes at 7pm and other Mondays afterwards it closes at 6pm.

Wondered if they expected it to be busy due to an event or have I got the date for Labor Day wrong and it is actually on 8th September (in which case we will visit Universal on a different day).
