anyone used monarch before?

Looking at a deal for orlando which is 2 weeks for 1550 for 2 adults and 2 children. Flights and accomodation at either comfort inn universal or econo lodge inn and suites.

A bit worried abotu the accomodation, and the fact taht the econolodge website says it charges 15 dollars per trip for disney trasnport when monarch say its free.

thanks

I know someone who works as a stewardess for Monarch and her words are "I would never fly with us to Orlando"
Not entirely constructive I know so whether they have improved only recent flyers can advise.

Sorry to put a complete downer on your plans, but I have heard bad reports about the econolodge. I have never stayed there but it may be worth reading a few trip reports on Cosmos website or trip advisor. If the general consensus on those is a no go then i generally heed that advice!

Hope it works out for you :)

Just out of interest, in what way was it bad? I've never flown with Monarch and I have no plans to, I'm just curious. :)

I flew Monarch to Greece last summer and it was fine. Only short haul, but the food was ok, average legroom and the staff were helpful. There again I usually fly EasyJet so am easy to please!

the food was awful, drinks were not bought round the staff were not helpful and the legroom was non existant, for a 5 hour flight it was disgraceful

I guess we are spoilt by virgin

Yup, I did a 7 night package with them last year, staying at Comfort Inn Universal. I got it extremely cheap about 10 days before departure, but the flight was awful. There were no individual tv sets, just a few in the middle of the plane that everyone had to look at, the picture quality and sound quality was awful too, the food was crap, no free drinks or snacks etc. Very uncomfortable. but I got it veeeery cheap so I couldn't complain. Would never do that again though.

Comfort Inn was fine though, I actually booked it again for the I-Drive part of our trip this year because it was the cheapest (like £10 a night!) and the breakfast was decent. Only thing is, it is a bit of a walk from Universal, they have free shuttles but we just strolled leisurely, took about 20 minutes.

20 mins walk is fine, we used to love walking frmo the rodeway, and when we stayed at teh wynfield, we got the i trolly to the end near rodeway and walked.

location looks ok, and has free transport to disney, and its just a base real.ly

will work out about 1500 for 2 adults and 2 children for 2 weeks so i think forthe price, wed take **** flights as long sa they are safe. We all have ipods and i have an ipad for entertainment, and wed take our own food if needed.

still in 2 minds, but might just go for it.

the next question is the tickets..... grrr

Probably hear more complaints about Monarch than anyone but I have never used them.
What dates and airport? will see if I can see anything else.

Can't get down to that price, nearest is below, Thomsons who get better reviews and an extra night. Personally I would pay the extra £250 for the airline but your money.

£1528 Flights with Thomson 25th April 15 nights incl 4x 20kg luggage(this can be reduced if too much)
Comfort Inn Universal £274
Total £1,802

Thats a good deal. I'd go with that too

Flew with Monarch to the Caribbean about 5 years ago - worst flight I have ever taken. Leg room, food etc was awful and the plane was really tired. Half the toliets were broken.

Not seat back tvs and the they just showed dad's army on re runs!

I would only travel with them again if the flight was really cheap or in premium class which gets pretty good reviews.
