moms of teenage boys or men

Wow, I'm shocked! My DS is 14 (5'7") and a size 10, and I thought that was big! We just reluctantly bought him indoor soccer shoes for Christmas that cost over $100. He wants to get the same brand cleats...$135...before his upcoming soccer trip. I hate to buy him ANY shoes at this point, much less expensive ones. He starts a job tomorrow. :thumbsup2

the funniest part of this growing feet thing is to watch them run. our ds has played baseball since he was 4 years old. when he turned 13 his feet grew seemingly overnight. the first time he ran the bases that spring was hysterical. it looked like he was leaning way forward. so awkward - plus he was tall and thin. the videos are so cute. now, he's 18, he's leveled out and
carries himself so well. he's still tall and thin but he's got that athlete's gracefullness when he walks, stands, etc. things will work out - just enjoy the time now because they grow so fast.

yeah my ds plays hockey do you know how expensive new skates are every couple of months? LOL they look the same though, a little awkward like they are relearning to walk or skate. Poor kids, I remember the gawky stage.

WOW -- all I can say -- my DS 10 and 1/2 and he's a size 6.......I believe his shoe size grows slowly -- He's 59" tall (nearly five feet).

I'm curious too have the heights of some of these boys.

my ds is right at 5 FT right now
He really started growing ( feet wise at least) in the last year and a half.

I have a serious question for you.

WHEN do their feet stop growing????

This may sound silly but my ds is going to be 12 next week and he wears a size 11 mens shoe :faint:
I am having nightmares of special ordering shoes from some giant boy catalouge!

:rotfl2:

He is definately due for a growth spurt cause he isnt tall enough to have that size foot.

Somebody tell me this is normal! please.

Your son has a ways to go before he stops growing. Kids can grow until they are 21.

Your son was like mine. He was in the same size at the same age. Luckily his feet stopped growing in HS. By then he was in a size 15 sneaker.

I always manage to find sneakers/cleats in his size at Sports Authority.

Binny, Zach is firmly in a 10 1/2. Meaning I bought him 10 1/2 the last time I got him shoes and he told me just a few weeks ago they fit well now. Yikes, that means they won't for long! Zach is about 5'2" (oh and almost 12 years) and I expect he'll be 6'1 or 6'2". Dh hit his growth spurt late, so I think Zach will be growing for awhile yet!

My 16 year old wears size 12. When he got his black converse high tops his sister told him if they had been red he'd look like Ronald McDonald. He's about 6 feet tall, 140 pounds and his feet are long and skinny.

Oh, wow, and I thought my son had big feet! Josh is 12, just over 5 feet tall and wears a men's size 8.

my older son's foot grew very gradually going up a size about every 6-12 months and finished at a 12 when he was 16. My younger sons foot was a size 6 when he was 11 and grew to an 11.5 within 2 years :scared1: I was buying shoes almost every month for awhile. But at 16 now, he is still an 11.5, so I guess he's finished.

Add me to the mom of a bigfoot--DS11 turns 12 next week, wears a 10 1/2 mens and is about 4'11"-hasn't his any major growth spurts yet either :scared1: . DD11 wears a 9-9 1/2 woman's shoe.

My ds, now 18, has been wearing a size 13 since he was about 14 yo. And the width...EEEE. Yup...you read that right. And they NEVER stop eating!:rotfl2: My nephew knows someone who wears a 22 1/2. :scared1: THOSE are special order!

I thought this about my son's feet, which were at men's size 10 when he was entered 8th grade. I wondered just how big are these feet going to be? Well, he has been an 12 now for almost 2 years. (He is in 11th grade) I think they might have stopped growing now.

It's weird to shoe shop with him now and have his feet still measure size 12 each time. Used to be a different figure every time we went!

All 3 of my sons are in size 14 and I would say have been since they turned 16.

My 17 y.o. hasn't changed shoe size in almost a year now.

My 16 y.o. is another story!

My DH can't even wear their shoes, his feet are smaller!

my 13 yrd old wears about a 13 now, and is about 5'10" now! And, my poor DH doesn't have a wardrobe anymore. The 'boy' keeps beating him to it. :rotfl:

DS13 wears size 14, and he's 6'3". His feet have been bigger than his dad's for a couple of years now.

At 13, I'm really afraid he has another growth spurt coming... :scared1:

My nephew turns 16 in a few months. He's 6'6" and wears a size 19 shoe. He went from a 15 to a 17 in about 6 weeks and then from 17 to 18 in less than a month and then 18 to 19 in another 5 or so weeks.

Bro and Sil make him pitch in for new shoes every other month because it's killing them $$$ wise as of course he wants the best of the best of the best!

My DS14 is wearing a 13 now. I swear he has grown 6 inches since school began, never have I had to replace the pants and shoes so often. I hope is stops soon.
I have to ask (I don't want to hyjack really) When did you sons start to shave? My DS has this shadow and I'm not old enough to have a child that shaves. LOL I guess the bunny will have to byt an electric shaver in the basket.

Deanna :bored: :cat:

DS 16 (17 in May) is 6'2" tall and wears a size 13. He went up a size in the last 6 months.

DS 15 is 6'1" tall and wears a 12 EEEE. Thank goodness for New Balance shoes. At this age DS #1 was about 5'8" on a good day - so we are looking for a big growth spurt soon which would put DS#2 at about 6'7". Funny thing is the Dr., when DS was about a year old, predicted an adult height of 6'8".
