Mommy & Me Girly Fun Bday 10/31 Last Day & AT home

Thanks Michele for your kind offer!! I actually ended up getting 50% off and 40% off coupons for the 2 pieces of fabric that I needed, so just got them.

I think we have a Hancock Fabrics, too...will need to check them out.

You're welcome. The skirts you are making are much cuter than the ones I am seeing in the stores.

Oh do check out Hancock they have a lot of different fabrics and they always have some on sale.

Here is the Rapunzel tutu I made for Rachel. She wanted a tutu that was a bit longer than a normal one. She also picked out the flower ribbons to match the flowers in Rapunzel's hair.

She wore this tonight to see Brave.

She looks so pretty. Tutu came out great

So how was Brave?

Heard there were some easter eggs in the movie, like the truck from toy story planet was in background during on the scenes :wizard:

She looks so grown up here! We saw Brave last night and enjoyed it. Such beautiful scenery.

Yep, we enjoyed Brave. Had some scary parts like all Disney movies but it was good (not great). I missed the wonderful singing that a real Disney princess movie has.

But Merida is definitely the new princess in town at our house!

Yep, it was very beautiful.

I have some more pics to post with them in their tutus and Merida dolls!

There is a Hancock's over by the Super Target off 15 behind Home Depot by the outlets.

I love R's tutu, it came out so cute. Debating taking my oldest to see Brave, I don't think the younger two would appreciate it.

Hey marsha

Just hopped on to see when you leave, wanted to make sure I did not miss you

A little over 2 weeks to go I see.

Are you and Rachel getting excited? :dance3:

Both Rachel and Elizabeth (3yo) really liked the movie. Elie just closed her eyes on the scary parts.

Yes, I am starting to get more and more excited as this "fantasy" trip is becoming a reality!!

We had a side trip to PA and tomorrow is one of our July Birthday parties with Jerry's side of the family...then I can start packing next week.

Although this intense heat does have me more than a bit concerned about the weather for Disney. Will just need to make sure we get up early to take advantage of the cooler mornings.

I am firm believer in early mornings, napping during the heat and going back in the evening when it starts to cool off.

Yep, that is going to be my plan, too. Hopefully, Rachel will nap, or at least rest, too, so we can go back into the parks in the evening.:thumbsup2

I hope so too. The better the nap the later you can stay.

Thanks to another Disser (bababear_50), I now have a beautiful personalized Mermaid invitation for Rachel to The Pirate's League.

We will go to the Garden View Tea after her transformation and then back to MK for the Pirate Parade and Jack Sparrow Tutorial!

Oh nice. That sounds fun. I like the theme of the bday party

Yeah, this heat has been insane. Suppose to have a feel of 106 tomorrow here :sad2:

Hope it cools down soon

I love the Mermaid invitation. That is so pretty princess:

What's the instructions on the tutu? I would love to make one for my DD.

What's the instructions on the tutu? I would love to make one for my DD.

Google "no sew tutus" and then just watch a few of them. THe basics are that you get ribbon (or elastic band) and then tie knots of the tulle around the ribbon/band to make a tutu.

It's really simple. I watched about 10 videos to see slight differences in how they made them but the basics are all the same!

Good luck.:goodvibes

Here are the first set of photos from the Merida/BRAVE birthday party we had for Rachel on Saturday. She will turn 7 this Friday.

We put this party together in 3 days. I was just planning a regular party but then Rachel and I came up with a few ideas to transform it to a Merida party.

Spellcakes -- note they have a magic filling in them. I also substituted maraschino cherry juice for the 3/4 cup of water that was required to give them a Merida twist (and also to taste better).

Merida Hair Streamer -- Rachel was excited to walk through the hair to get to the dining room.

The dining room with blue and purple streamers and balloons, Merida placewear, cups, etc.

Also some generic Disney princess balloons that we refilled from Elie's Princess party in March.
