Mommy, I want to see the Castle.... my first PTR ~ UPDATED 10/22

I’m late, but really enjoyed reading this. We are going Thanksgiving week due to annual teacher's conference that the school usually closes for being scheduled for the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the tip about Kinko's. I love donatalie's passport book (I picked passport 1 under holidays around the world) but the thought of printing that out at home with all those beautiful colors was :scared1:

I'm hoping to get everything printed out between tomorrow and Saturday.

This is so much fun. I’m planning a surprise trip and getting the mail everyday is an adventure. Fortunately along with the stuff I ordered for their gift bags, I ordered her a Tiana dress and crown for her to wear on the 31st. She knew about the dress so it wasn't suspicous when a Disney box was on the porch when we got home. It was a bit difficult trying to keep her face out of the box while I pulled the dress out of it though.:headache:

I ordered that same autograph book for my dd. I love how you can combine autographs and pictures in it. We have Akershus on our Epcot day so hopefully she can see Jasmine in Morocco and Mulan in China and get everyone else between Akershus and MK and see Pocohantas at AK. Also have 1900 Park Fare on Thanksgiving. I ordered an adorable Cinderella dress from Toys R Us. Last night at church they showed the children Cinderella and I asked her what she thought of the dress. She said it was beautiful..so pretty. She said since she is Tiana this year, maybe she can wear that dress next year. I just smiled inside.:cloud9:

Your daughter is so cute. My daughter asks to see the castle a lot too. Every time she sees it on Disney Channel it's "take me there please please please." Can't wait to get up and say, we're going to castle baby.:woohoo:

Better late than never :) Thanks for reading and posting. Though I haven't written a ton, this has been a lot of fun. I'm sure I'll enjoy going back and reading in a few months!

WOW a suprise trip!!! That would be a lot of fun! I doubt I could keep my mouth shut, how do you do it??? I bet your daughter will be so excited with the Cinderella dress. What another fun suprise.

I see you are in NC. Where are you?

We live in Raleigh.

:rotfl: I keep my mouth shut for sanity's sake. My child would drive everyone including her little brother up a wall if she knew about this trip now. In the days leading up to her birthday party earlier this year, her behavior report said "not focused" for 5 days straight. Her mind was on that party. She has literally been asking to go for 3 years. She knows I plan to take her, but last time we talked about it I was pregnant and said we'd need to wait until her brother was bigger. Actually I thought I'd wait until he was walking. She thinks we are going when he's 2 because anytime I say wait until your brother is bigger, she translates that into when he's 2.

I know though, I can't say a thing until I can tell her we are going that day.

One night I asked her what she would want to do if she went there just to make sure I was planning correctly. She answered and it was what I thought. Then she looked at me with wide eyes and asked, "Is it tomorrow?" The look of disappointment when I said "No, but it would take a lot of planning so I thought I'd ask," could freeze boiling water in an instant. She has no idea what WDW contains. I don't think she is aware it is much more than that castle and the characters. She's going to be pretty shocked at all there is to do.

Any suggestions for goodie bag items for an 8 yr. old boy? I'm having a lot of trouble with ideas for him. I'd like to have something "Disney" themed but it sure it tough!

I am so sorry I didn't see this post question for me....

I've had luck in the past finding things in the Target $1 bins...but there might not be muc now w/ the Holidays approching. but some generic things can be a small not super bright flash light. On Sat my DD spied these Energizer ones that have a wand too...she was like cool mini light sabers. Or a small notepad you could cover it w/ Disney paper and add stickers. something for him to write or doodle in. Some of the DISigners on the creative boards have some activity puzzles you could print. or maybe you can find a card game he likes, some quarters and pennies to press at the parks. Look for some easy reader Disney movie books Toy Story 3 has one out now, you might find some on Amazon. com too

hope that helps!

In exactly 30 DAYS we will be at Disney World!!! It seems like we have been planning this trip FOREVER!!! It really can't come soon enough. I made a list today of all the things that we need to do, I'm sure it will get longer even with each thing that gets crossed off.

Happy 30 days... :dance3: :woohoo:

Thanks for the ideas Mousescrapper!

3 weeks from today we'll be on our way to WDW!!! It has felt like an eternity. Our papers came earlier this week. It was so fun to share that with the kids. They were so excited!

I have wrestled with a mix of excitement and guilt over this trip. As excited as I have been I've felt equally guilty about spending money. It's been difficult to reconcile that. However, now that we're this close I am focusing more on the excitement! Our family needs this trip SO much!!! I am looking forward to spending a whole week with just my hubby & kids

We started a new family dinner game last week. I actually stole the idea from the Official Nov. thread. Each night one of us comes up with a "Question of the Day". It has been fun. I think especially for DS8. He's having fun with it. DD3 doesn't come up with questions of course and all of her answers are "I want to eat with the princesses" no matter what the question is about. I keep wondering how boring our lives are going to be after we return and we have nothing to talk about with each other

Over the weekend we made a travel CD from some of the 50 free downloads Disney Music was giving away over the summer. That was fun too. This weekend we will continue to try to get ready for the trip. I am going to try and start some packing. My goal is to NOT be stressed come trip week. We have a lot going on the weekend before that so time is really ticking away. I NEED MY LISTS!!!!!!!!!!

Til next time have a great weekend and thanks for hanging in there and following my PTR!

It has been a while since I last updated my PTR. Life has been crazy! But none of that matters right now. I am sitting in St. Augustine, FL. We stopped here last night on our way down to WDW. We are at a lovely Courtyard. We'll probably spend the morning here. I've never been to St. Aug. even though I grew up in FL. So we may try to take in a few of the sights here. Although I have 2 very anxious, VERY excited little munchkins that are super eager to get to Disney World. I must admit they have 2 very anxious, VERY excited parents who are super eager to get there too!!!

Thanks to all who have spent time reading this. Even though I wasn't able to update much it was a lot of fun. I have a journal with me so who knows maybe I'll get to writing a TR in a couple of weeks. But for now.... I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! In the words of my 8 yr. old DS "I'm out peeps". :rotfl2:
