"Mommy! Dey heads is fweaky!" 8 (otherwise) wonderful days in March 2011

I just read your ENTIRE TR and your family is adorable! Eliza meeting Tiana brought tears to my eyes!

I too am originally from NE Ohio (Wooster, if that means anything to you) and was ALSO in Disney in March of this year. While reading your TR I even sincerely thought I even saw you in the parks. I have your DH's Toy Story shirt (green aliens saying "oooo" from Target?) and was wearing it one evening in MK when I passed a man wearing the exact same shirt! I though could it be? Did I run into you? But alas, no. I checked your dates again and I was there the week AFTER you left :( But still, how serendipitous ;)

Thanks! :) We're in Canton, so not that far from Wooster at all. And how funny would that have been if you had seen us?? So close! :)

Thanks for sharing Eliza's trip to BBB and meeting Tiana. It really brought me a morning smile. :)

And you're doing great with your Canon XS! I bought my first DSLR before our first trip to the MK with Katie at age 4. I'm so glad I did. Keep at it. You took some great shots!

Getting the DSLR at that time was a no-brainer for me even though that 6MP Rebel was right around $1000. With what I was spending on film and developing, it paid for itself in no time. It's amazing to see what has happened to the price of DSLR's since then.

I'd LOVE to flash back in time and read your 09 TR!

Thanks, Janet! I've fallen behind on your TR as well! One of these days, I'll catch up with everyone. I often check in and check out a page or so of your amazing pics but don't always comment. And wow, unbelieveable about DSLR prices! :scared1: It's only been in the past 2 or so years that I got serious about wanting one - and now I so wish I'd had it when the kids were babies!! Better late than never though. ;) I just took Eliza to the park and we had a little 5 year photo shoot - and even as completely and totally amateur as I am, I liked them so much more than last year's studio pics at 4 yrs. old.

I have to tell you also - my husband and I (ok, mainly just me ;)) are in the very earliest planning stages of a big out west trip for summer 2013 - in large part, due to your TR! I showed him all those gorgeous pics and he was totally on board. I've already started looking at stuff - we've only got 2 weeks max. so we're going to have to fly out somewhere and then rent a car to do the sightseeing/driving we want - and we're planning 3 days at DLR. :)

OK. Lets see if I grabbed the right photo this time. This is the one my DS has, and looking further, even has the same shorts.

We visited FLA a week later than you, and what a difference a week makes. We arrived on March 18th, and departed on the 25th. Every day was sunny and 85. We visited a couple of parks, the beach, and just hung by the pool.

(We don't stay at WDW. The parentals own a timeshare just up the road.)

I also love Margaritaville. DS loves watching the volcano blow. Their nachos are the best, as are the little parrot head masks they give the kids to wear.

Loving the report! DD looked like a true princess after her visit and I'm wishing now we would've scheduled a pirate makeover for my guy.

I love that monkey outfit - and I've instilled a love of plaid in Benjamin, so he was totally on board with the shorts. :)

Man, sounds like we should have pushed back our trip!! My son was on spring break the week of March 28 and we debated going then and I was worried that the closer we got to Easter, the worse crowds would be. Ha! I should have stuck with his break week! I shouldn't complain - it wasn't BAD weather, just not the warmth we were hoping for after a bad OH winter. And a couple days, especially our space center/beach day, it was downright chilly with the wind!

Benjamin randomly tells me that he won't do the pirate makeover again. Or that if he does, he won't pick that face again - I think he really hated how stiff it felt when all that makeup dried!

I started going through 09 pics last night! :cutie:

I know what you mean about wishing you had your DSLR sooner. Man, what I would give to be able to sneak back and do pictures of the kids with a DSLR! Not that I'd want to go back..... Not sure I could do the sleepless nights again...... or the diapers.......... OK, maybe I'll just be happy to have a DSLR when grandkids come along...... :rotfl:

And YEAH for heading west! It truly is an amazing journey. Feel free to message me with any questions you have. We've been to the southwest 4 times now and still haven't seen it all. And of course, DLR is just icing on the cake. :goodvibes

Yeah, I suppose it's a little extreme to have another one just for baby pics with a DSLR. :rotfl: I think my DH would take my camera away from me if I mentioned it. :rotfl: I do childcare at home and get my fix of little guy pics that way. :)

I'm sure I will take you up on any questions when it gets closer! I'm really excited - we've never been out west at all and you're right - I'm thrilled that even if it's 2 years away, I know there's some Disney trippin' coming up at some point!!

Ok, someone help me out...how do I make the TR link clickable in my signature? I knew how to do that at one point but can't for the life of me remember!

Sorry, I didn't word that well enough - how can I make it so that my siggy says "March 2011 TR" and when you click on those words, you're taken to the TR. (:lmao: That probably wasn't any clearer, huh?)

While I wasn't the greatest at keeping up, I just finished your TR! LOVED it! I'm with others who would like to hear about your '09 visit. :thumbsup2

Super easy.. Just type "March 2011 TR" and highlight it. Then click on the little globe-like linky thing (way technical here!) and paste the link in. That's it! :goodvibes

Click on the globe up top on the response page or signature page. erase what is already there..(http://) ipne the 1st page of your TR and copy and paste the lin to it in that box. hit OK, it will appear on the page yo uare working on. It will have a part that is highlighted. In that part you change it to whatever you want it to be call You can make it bold, change the color, or whatever, but don't mess with anything but the section that was highlighted. I erase the highlight and put my info in...I hope that made since. I was trying to be descriptive, but I think I was more confusing.

Thanks Jen! It took me a couple tries but I got it! Great description!

I saw your facebook pictures and those were amazing. you should post a few here.
Yay for going out west. We talk of going to the Grand Canyon and WDW, but it will take so much time to do both on the same trip and fly as well. But maybe I can get it figured out one day.

It just depends. We go down every year, and used to always go the first week in March. Almost always fabulous pool weather.

One year we went down on Feb. 27th and it was cold the first 2 days, but it was snowin' away in OH. It took us 2 hours to drive to airport and even Cleveland cancelled schools. If it's super cold up north its sometimes cold(er) down in FLA as well. Of course that was the year we flew back into snow as well and had to move our flight up to beat a 2 foot snowfall!

Great Trip Report! Thanks for sharing...this got me through another day away form Disney. We still have over 10 months until our next trip. I hear the same thing from my husband when I'm taking too many pictures, "Come on guys...mom will catch up". Love it! You have to make it down to Disney at Christmas time. That is the most magical! We are from Brunswick, Ohio...are you close to us?

Thanks again!!!! I enjoyed your report and it gave me my smile for the day!:goodvibes

Thanks! :goodvibes I am so bad at keeping up with other people TR (and heck, my own!!) that I can only follow a few at time - I'm subscribed to yours but am SO SO far behind!

No, I'm pretty slow with techie stuff, I most definitely need it explained like you were explaining it to Claire. :rotfl:

Thanks for the compliments on Eliza's pics - I was pretty happy with them!
I wish it weren't 2 whole years away b/c I'm really excited about going out west. I never, ever thought we'd make it all the way out to DLR, so that's pretty exciting - plus much gorgeous stuff to see out west. We'd both love to drive out there from home, but there's no way that we'd have the time to do all that driving AND see half the stuff we want to see. So we'll figure out some combination of flying into somewhere, renting a car and doing the sightseeing we want to see and probably 3 days at DLR...more if I can swing it.:cutie:

Yeah, I totally shouldn't complain because it's nearly ALWAYS better than OH weather, especially that time of year!

Thanks and glad you enjoyed it!!

I'd love to do Christmas time, not sure I coud talk my husband into it. After this trip he's pretty much decreed "No Disney unless it's HOT!"

I can't for the life of me place where Brunswick is - I want to say not too terribly far, but don't know for sure. We're in Canton, about an hour south of Cleveland.
