Hi Everyone, My name is Kristin, and this my first attempt at a DIS Pre-Trip Report. I have been a lurker on the boards for a couple of years, and recently booked a trip for my daughter and I 11/28-12/4.

Now a little background about us!

My name is Kristin, I am 29 and a full-time bartender/part time bookkeeper from NH. I am a divorced mother to a beautiful little 9 year old named Sophia. I love to Travel, and have been to Disney 4 times. My last full trip was when I was a senior in High School (so over 11 years ago) and I had a blast! My first trip was when I was 8 years old and it was the dream disney vacation- it was so magical- I was in love.

And Here's a picture of Sophia and I before she left for camp this summer..
We tend to take most of our family Vacations out west. Love it there- fly into Vegas- spend a few days- and then travel to some of the national parks!

In Vegas after seeing Human Nature (my sister Katelyn is on the left)(

This will be Sophia my DD9's first full trip to Disney. We had gone 3 years ago now, and it turned into a little disaster. We had plans to go to Disney with my BF at the time's family, stay at his family's condo in Orlando and then spend 4 days in Disney. Due to his sister's kids being sick- we actually only ended up going for one day. We did a 'quick tour' of Magic Kingdom and that was about it. Sophia got a makeover at the BBB, it was a HOT miserable day during April Vacation week- read: PACKED!!! We were able to ride on about 3 rides- and then called it a day.

Sophia wasn't the biggest fan. :sad2: She's pretty impatient- didn't like the sticky hot weather that day, and the lines...ohh the lines.

I have really wanted to plan another trip back since then- but she didn't seem very into it. We went to Vegas again in May- had a wonderful time- but I still really wanted to take her to Disney.

About a month ago I pulled out my old photo albums- and showed her pictures of all the fun I had when I was her age in Disney. I think she was sold- if not completely for her, she knew that I was excited to share it with her.

So I booked our trip!!!

We arrive on 11/28 we will fly out of Boston and hopefully will be in Orlando around 10:30am.

We have reservations at the Yacht Club. After weeks and weeks of searching I found a great deal on the room/ dining package. Upgraded to Deluxe Dining- because since this is our first trip together- and it's just the two of us mind as well go all out!

I am not a huge eater, and Sophia doesn't usually eat off the kids menu- so I am thinking she will share a lot with me, she is a pretty exotic eater for a 9 year old.

I am thinking our plan will be something like.... (Please note subject to change haha)

:) Kristin

82 more days and my mother told me today that she really wants to come!!! I guess we'll see. It would mean changing all my reservations around,
Totally worth it foe her to see her only grandchild experience Disny for the first time. We'll see how it all
Comes together!!

Sounds fantastic and I'm sure the weather will be much better than your previous visit - I'd much rather visit Disney parks when I'm cool enough to want a jacket or sweater. Our visit to WDW was very warm and quite humid ~ yuck.

What resort are you staying at? We really enjoyed our free dining visit *10/09* dining was a huge part of our visit ~ you've got some great ADRs.

Next time you head west you really should visit Disneyland - we love it there, it's an easy drive from Vegas or you could fly in to S CA - have you visited any UT National Parks? Zion, Arches, Canyon Lands? I love Zion and DS thinks Arches is awesome.
