Hello!!!! ​

My name is Natalia. I've lurked the DisBoards since I was pregnant; posting occasionally and learning a lot. 4 years, 6 trips later I'm finally ready to do a trip report (well PreTrip Report but in 3 weeks it will be an official report!).

I close on selling my first house in the DC area on August 28th. This is the biggest thing to happen to me in a while. My renter skipped out on the last months rent and thankfully my house sold within 3 weeks of being on the market. Since I had to fly to sign (and bring my 4 year old with me...bad weekend everyone else is traveling too) I decided to take him to Disney on the return flight instead of home for the weekend!

M, is 4, just turned 4 so we will celebrate his birthday too. M has been going to Disney World since he was 1 1/2 years old. His favorite ride is 7 Dwarves Mine Train and sometimes I think he loves the hotels more than the parks.

I'm 31. We live in the middle of nowhere, North Carolina. My favorite ride is Expedition Everest. BUT since we are only going to the MK this trip I have to miss it.

We are staying at the Polynesian. We plan to do 1 full day (Saturday) and 2 half days (Friday and Sunday). I work 60+ hour weeks as a program manager so anything longer this short of notice just couldn't happen; nor could I afford the Poly for much longer!

Our Plans:​

1. Flights to DC, Flights to Orlando and Hotel
2. First Night - Magic Kingdom then the Poly Pool or maybe the other way around
3. Saturday - Mickey All Day Every Day
4. Sunday - Taking it all in Again
5. Saying Good Bye (till October)

Flights to DC, Flights to Orlando and Hotel

Flight number 1 is from NC to Northern VA. We land at 7, I sign closing documents between 830 and 930 and we need to be back at the airport by 10:30 to get on our flight at 1230....CRAZY MAD DASH!

As long as nothing goes wrong with the signing I think we should be good. I have yet to decide if we are even going to check a bag or if I'm just going to stuff my Vera Bradley Weekend bag to the brim. Remembering I have to lug it out of the airport to the car rental, with 4 year old in tow and then back to airport to check back in.

Flight Number two of the day leaves Northern VA at 12:35, we land in Magical Orlando at 2:52.
I pray MDE goes smoothly and we can get to the hotel by 4/4:15. That might be wishful thinking though.

Our hotel is the Polynesian. I didn't necessarily want to spend as much money as I ended up spending but due to the short trip I wanted a monorail resort and this was the best we could do within our price range. We stayed here this March while I attended a conference (at conf rates!) and we loved it. BUT we had horrible luck. The pool LITERALLY Opened the day we left!!!! This time we plan to get in the pool a bit for sure and check out the new bar.
