Who we are
Mommy (Me) trip planner and certified Disney OCD. I am 30 something, work full time in the corporate world, love all things Disney, Wishes makes me weep, Favorite park is Magic Kingdom, Favorite Character is Chip and Dale (with Chip being my preferred chipmunk).
Daughter (DD) my only child who has been easily swayed into the love of Disney, current favorite princess is Tiana. Loves Tink, great at finding hidden mickeys(even outside of Disney World).
How this trip came to be
January 2009 .One evening in Epcot as we ran to our ADR at Garden Grill my daughter asked When can we go to Disney just you and me mommy? For the remainder of the trip she continued to ask, and she wanted photos of just her and I, rather than the whole family. So the January 2009 trip planted the seed for a Mommy and Me vacation.
Upon return from that trip I had priced out a few options, one was for March 2009 (I had received a PIN) as well as during free dining in the fall. I even made a reservation and cancelled. Finally I caved and made a reservation for January 2010, we were solid snowbirds having visited this time of year in 2007 and 2009. I had originally booked POP, 8 nights, 9 days park hopper and Deluxe Dining. When the 4/3 deal came out I hopped on the phone and discussed my options. We upped our vacation to Animal Kingdom Lodge Pool view room (same number of nights, same dining plan).
This trip then officially became the Mommy & Me Safari!
All the planning was done in secret! The secret would be revealed Christmas Day, my daughters wish for her just me 'n mom trip was going to come true!

The Why: to Celebrate Mommy & Me Time
Some more background Our trip in January 2007 was to be our once in a lifetime vacation. It was the time for DDs first visit. I had not been to WDW since it was just MK. I really didnt know what to expect. Well my obsession was born on that vacation, everything about WDW touched my emotions and I needed more. I fueled myself with reading all things Disney, surfing the web for all things Disney and rewatching all the Disney Classics on DVD. I really did not expect the gift that WDW became to me, and that is what I consider it a gift. Walt Disney and his team of imagineers have created a place that is unlike any other place, and I want to absorb every piece of the magic!
