So I figured that I'd start a pre-trippie. I'm driving my poor husband insane with planning and Disney talk. So hey, at least I can talk to you guys on here and you'll listen.

My DD (Maddy) and I are going on a big adventure to WDW. Originally the plan was for the whole family to go, but unfortunately my DH and SD will not be joining us.

Cast of characters in post #2 ...

Cast of characters:

My name is Hilary aka “The Mommy”. I’m 31, will be 32 in April. Ordinarily, I’m a fan of travelling to the Caribbean – without my kids – for vacation. I like having some peace and quiet. I have 50/50 custody of my 6-year-old daughter. By day, I’m a Compliance Manager for a national bank. By night, I’m a college student working on a second degree, and a volunteer moderator for one of the largest support groups for second wives and stepmoms on the internet.

Brad is my husband. He’s 34, and a stay-at-home-dad. I call him my “sad panda”, because he has the cutest little pouty face. See?

My stepdaughter is 9. My husband and I are 100% custodial (she only talks to her biological mother on the phone a few times a year, and has no visitation with her). We have no family support with her, so we truly are on our own with my SD. It’s a challenge, at best, because she really wants a relationship with her bio-mom … but sadly the feeling isn’t reciprocal. More on the behavioral issues caused by this later.

My daughter is 6. She’s my mini-me. I have true “shared parenting” with my ex-husband – we are 50/50. As far as co-parenting relationships go, it’s as OK as it could possibly be. I am using my “one interrupted week of vacation” to take DD to Disney. This is us:

Resort: Carribbean Beach

Tickets: 7-day park hoppers, no water park option
Dining: Deluxe Dining Plan

ADRs in the next post ...

We wanted to have a mixture of great TS meals, and a relaxed schedule able to tour at our leisure. So I scheduled some of the really great ADRs we wanted, and will either add a few more as it gets closer, or will stick to CS. We'll also likely hit the TS place at our resort (CBR) for a meal or so.
