Moment of madness.... We're returning to DLP Oct half term please help

Soooooooo excited to be getting back to DLP after a few years break.

This weekend after much debate about where to go at half term my lovely OH has said let's just go for it and do Disney.

There'll be alot of firsts, driving there and staying off site for a start. We've not been since Aug 2012 so I'm completely out of the loop.

I've got no real time to plan or figure anything out, which for a typical ocd Disney planner is beyond scary.

Does anyone have any advice how to tackle the parks at this crazy busy time and anything we should be sure to try not to miss (we've got 5 days)? Also anyone know of any deals on one day tickets? We'll be buying annual passes but the older kids coming with just want to do one day.

We were discussing the soiree. What's different on that night?

Lots! I've never been myself but it looks great. Very very very busy but lots to see and do. Everyone dresses up. There's lots of shows on that aren't on at any other time. Lots of M&Gs too but I hear the queues are long for those.
