"Mom, why does the Magical Bus have to be the happiest and the saddest bus?"NEW 8/24!

Ok, you must have posted that last update when I posted my post. That is so funny that Gabe thought you actually went up in the sky for Soarin. I hope you got a chance to ride it while you were there. I love that Nike bag. Where did you get it? from the website or did you find a store?

Great updates! :goodvibes

POFQ just looks so pretty & peaceful!! I have a feeling it's going on my list of must-do resorts!!

The pics of the kiddos are so cute...love their big smiles!!

Sounds like a good start at Epcot on your first day!!

Looking forward to reading more!

Oh no, sorry Gabe didn't want to do Soarin! :guilty:

I am laughing at that picture in the Seas near Bruce and Helen's face. :rotfl: We have a few pictures like that from when we were little (mostly of my youngest sister though...haha).

That pool looks like a lot of fun from what I could see. I love, love, love that pic of your kids in their pajamas. So adorable. Great idea to do the gift bag! I think I will steal that idea and use it the next time we go.:dance3:

That's funny that we posted pretty much at the exact same time!! Thanks about the PJ pic, it always makes me smile when I see it! I hope they are always that happy and excited while we are in Disney (I am pretty positive they always will be):goodvibes:goodvibes

Yes, Gabe can talk himself into and out of things easily and I think he was so convinced that it was "real" that he just couldn't get over it. He was brave on a lot of other things, so one attraction out of so many wasn't bad at all, I think I was just sad that on the first attempt on the first day that it was a bust! The Nike bag is my aunt's bag and she got it at Marshall's/TJ Maxx about 4 years ago, so I don't know if they make it anymore. It's great for carrying stuff, I usually hold onto it unless she is going on a trip, we share it! It expands and I really like bags I can just "dump" stuff into!

Great updates! :goodvibes

Thanks Heather! I was so happy when we booked FQ and even happier when we got there! It was so beautiful, especially at night with all the street lamps lit up! The pool area was really fun for the kids and it was nice taking the boat to DTD! We did have a pretty good start at Epcot, even though we got there later than planned, the day got better and better!!!

It's okay that he didn't go. I treated it like a big deal at the time and I should have just let it go. He was so happy to be there and I felt bad for making him sad right on the first park day. :sad1:
Yes, Helen's face is hysterical!! She is so expressive in her fave and we obviously had made her take the picture.:lmao:

And we were off to Character Connection!!! We waited in line only about 20 minutes, it was nice they had cartoons playing to keep us entertained in line!!!
Here's Helen patiently waited to see MICKEY!!!

We snacked on some licorice and fruit snacks while we waited and then it was our turn!!! (I haven't finished editing pics for photopass yet, I will post them when I do finish!!!) We did get some good shots with our camera too!!
Gabe could not WAIT to get to the mouse!!! Helen was unsure about all the characters on the first day!

The characters here were so great!! Gabe loved every little second of it!! (I think it shows!!:rotfl:)
Next up was PLUTO!!

Helen was always a little sketchy with them all:

Then it was our turn for Minnie!!!
Helen got a little brave and gave Minnie a High-5!

Then it was Donald!! Gabe loves Donald too!!
DSC01113.jpg

Donald was so sweet to Helen:

Then on to Goofy, and every time I see Goofy up close I stand there and think to myself how tall he is and wonder what the person looks like inside that costume!

Trying to convince Helen that Goofy is cool:

Phew...Character Connection...done!!!
Helen was a little tuckered out from that I think...

ONWARD...

I loved the idea that all the main characters were in one place!
It was great...but in July we had to wait over an hour in line!
Gabe sure does look like he was super happy!

we loved Character connection! Gabe is so cute! with his excitment with the characters...I love how they have this section set up one line! and move through the characters...I wish they would do that in all the parks!

I wanted to try and be the first family of the day and thought I had missed out so we took our time getting there...Gwendolyn & Joe were there waiting and said the first family chosen got there just after they did...the first family normally gets a shot with the Fab5 all together

:lmao: I love Helen's face while waiting in line. What a cute pic. I love the character connection. The character interaction is usually pretty good there. I hope Helen gets warmed up. I think the same thing about Goofy every time I see him.:rotfl:

I'm loving the updates, Beth! :thumbsup2 Obviously the kids are super stinkin' cute but I thought you should know that you look great in your pictures too! You look so happy and carefree! Looks like you really had a great trip (so far at least...).

I can totally appreciate your frustration with Gabe's anxiety because Jilly is the exact same way! There were a lot of rides that she talked about riding for months, and then as soon as we got to the park, she just refused...without even seeing them. We did force her onto Soarin' though!! :rotfl: (If you remember from my TR, her response was "I'm freakin' out a little bit" when we asked how she liked it!)

Great updates!!:thumbsup2 Love the picture of Gabe and Helen in Bruce's mouth! It looks like they loved Nemo and Friends!!:goodvibes

Sorry about Soarin'. The first time Noah rode, he thought we actually went up in the real sky too and was actually disappointed when the ride was over and a little confused when he realized we were still in the building. :rolleyes1

Isn't the character connection great...all the Fab 5 in one place!! We thought the interaction was wonderful! You got some really cute pics! Gabe looks so happy!:)

Great photos from the Character Connection. Those smiles on Gabe's face are pricesless!

Beth,
I missed your Living Seas update!
great Bruce and friends pictures; we missed those this year...the lines around them were just too much... we too missed Turtle Talk with Crush, Danny did not want to do it...so, we did not do it:confused3. I should have told him to go take a walk or something, because I know Ashton would have loved it! Oh! well hopefully it will be a new experience next go round!

on Soarin', Ashton rode it but he did have a few moments that is was a bit too intense for him...but, when we were off he said he liked it!
:wave2: Connie

Helen is too cute in her baggy shorts! :cutie:

Great family pics with the characters! I agree Character Connection is a wonderful idea. It goes so much faster than the princesses or fairies at MK because they take a lot of time talking to each child. The mute characters are so much quicker!

We love character connection too!! Gabe was so excited, he could have just met with characters constantly if we let him! It's great to see the Fab 5 all at once too! I think on the next trip we will hit this up right at RD, it's just so convenient to see all 5! WOW, an hour in line!! You guys are tough Heather!!!

I totally agree Connie with having it in every park, especially with the Fab 5! It would make it easier to see them all! Gabe was TOTAL excitement with any and every character! It was so fun watching him!! Bummer you guys missed "family of the day", I didn't know the first ones got to do that!!! I think we will definitely head there first next trip!! That would be so cool!!

She was so excited in line and then got shy and a little scared when it was our turn to see them! She did warm up by the end of the trip and was even giving hugs! I don't know what it is about the Goofy character, but my mind wanders and thinks about odd things for some reason!!!:lmao:

Thanks Jen! I was feeling good on the trip!! I was so happy to be there with our kids, I am glad it shows!! It also helped that they were happy and having so much fun!! (and they barely got into any arguments too!!) Jilly is so cute with the things she says!! I do remember reading that and laughing thinking that would be something Gabe would say!! :lmao: Cory was going to just pick Gabe up and drag him on Soarin', sometimes I wish we did, a lot of things at home he gets nervous about we just force him to do it and almost 100% of the time he LOVES whatever it is!! It's hard for Cory and I to understand sometimes because we aren't wired that way, we both will try anything no matter what!
Great updates!!:thumbsup2 Love the picture of Gabe and Helen in Bruce's mouth! It looks like they loved Nemo and Friends!!:goodvibes

Thanks Angie!! They both LOVED Nemo and we were bummed we missed Turtle Talk. At least by the next trip I think Helen will be able to appreciate it too! It's okay about Soarin', Cory and I did get to ride it later in the trip so all was not lost! It's funny that Noah thought you were really up in the sky too, they make it look so "real" to those young minds!!
Gabe was so happy and much more relaxed by the time we went through Nemo and then visited the characters! I was happy that we got through the little hurdle of him being scared!!
Great photos from the Character Connection. Those smiles on Gabe's face are pricesless!

Thank you so much!! He was over the moon happy hugging all the characters!! He could have done that all day long! He is starting to ask if there is "people" inside those costumes though...he may be on to them...:rotfl2:

Yeah, we were lucky there weren't too many around Bruce when we went! Gabe talked about that a lot before we went on our trip that he wanted to do that again! I know, I feel bummed we didn't get to see Crush too, I think Gabe would have really enjoyed it!! It's on our list of must-do's for the next trip for sure!!!
Helen is too cute in her baggy shorts! :cutie:

Thanks Alicia!! It does go much faster because the characters are silent!! They do make a lot of kissing sounds though!! I always feel like I should say stuff to them and then I don't because I know they can't respond!!:rotfl2:

Oh my gosh Beth! You started your TR while I was gone and I'm just now finding you!

Gotta go catch up!

WHEW! Made it! Sorry your departure was a bit delayed. I don't know that I could have resisted rushing right into a park but I love the idea of getting a bite to eat and going for a swim first, I'm sure the kids loved it!

I'm a bit nervous about Soarin since you already said you never got back to TTA or Turtle Talk...

I never hit up character connection on this trip, I had already met most of them and didn't want to wait in the long line (3 in the afternoon is not a great time to go!) but I never did get to see Pluto (or Chip and Dale who I think are often there) which I was bummed about!

I guess I wasn't too far behind... It looks like you guys were off to a great start at Epcot! :thumbsup2 I'm sorry things didn't live up to your expectations... I think we are all guilty of setting the bar too high. We spend so much time planning to make everything perfect that it can be easy to be disappointed. I'm glad you decided to roll with it - you look pretty happy in the pictures! :goodvibes

Hi Katie!! I have to check out your TR too!!!! It was hard to resist not heading right to a park BUT I knew the kids would do better and have more energy if we waited until the next morning! The were happy enough with swimming and exploring the resort a bit, it was a really nice way to unwind!! Yeah, Character Connection we will only visit in the morning, I mean we REALLY LOVE the characters but I can't imagine waiting more than an hour!! I have to go and get started on your TR!!!! Glad you found me!!:goodvibes

I haven't gotten too far yet Amy so you haven't missed much! Yes, deciding to relax early on sure made a wonderful trip even better! I am glad I could surrender so quickly because we really had so much more fun!!! We ended up doing so much, even though we missed a few things it always gives us a reason to go back!!!:cool1:
