"Mom, this is like a whole new Disney!" New 7/30 - pg 43 - Final Thoughts & PTR Link

I also went to the bathroom again (#3) and decided not to drink two cups of coffee and a glass of juice before heading to the parks for the rest of the week.

Up next: Hollywood & Vine

:rotfl:

that seems wise but I know for me, at the moment, it's hard to stop!

I think I've mentioned that Laura hasn't fully committed to the trip yet... well yesterday I was playing around on the Disney website and noticed that special room-only rates at POFQ are booked for the weekend we want to go...

So I decided to give Laura a little nudge and suggested that we decide on a resort and book something since it's fully refundable anyways... if things don't work out we can cancel, but if they do we want to make sure we have a resort we like.

She has stayed at POR & I've stayed at CBR & POP. POP was still my first choice for a value resort... the others don't really appeal to me. As far as moderates go, I didn't want to stay at CBR again, just because I'd like to try something else. I was leaning toward POFQ, but since it was booked I thought POR would be a good second choice.

Laura got back to me today and thought it would be a good idea to book something and that she would love to stay at POR again, but that we should probably go with a value resort. I broke down the prices for her and since a moderate is only about $75 more each for the 3 nights (standard view) or about $100 more for a water view we opted for POR, standard view!!

I booked it today!! I made a reservation for POR from Thursday 9/30 - Sunday 10/3. :banana::banana:

Now I need your help... Where do we want to stay? The mansions or Alligator Bayou?? I'm thinking upper floor (quieter) & near the main building... but other than that, I have no idea what we want...

I'd vote for the mansions but I really have no clue. I just want to say I'm staying in the manions!

LOL

:cool1: for booking the next trip.

Jeff asked me the other night when the next one was planned for....

Which was funny coming from him given that this one is still almost 3 months away!

Hey Amy, great pics of DHS! I know...there were a lot of refurbishments going on all over the place! I was sad the Aerosmith guitar was under refurbishment...i wanted to show my DBF! Can't wait to hear more!

:banana: Yay for booking your next trip!! I do not know anything about PO as we always stay at POFQ. I am sure you will get lots of ideas from the others that have stayed there.

OK stupid question Amy-How do you update your TR title so you can add the words "Update on 5/21"???

:cool1: just a little dancin dude cause you're cool and need something in the main text area so I can post....

But where's the shortcut?? :confused3

:rotfl:

I'm sort of drawn to the mansions too... Alligator Bayou looks nice too, but there's just something about the mansions...

I'd roll with it if my DH asked me when our next trip was planned for. :thumbsup2

I was a little sad that the guitar was covered too... but I was really happy that most of the rehabs were just cosmetic.

Go to your first post, click on edit, then you have to click on "go advanced" and it will allow you to update the "Title" line. Good Luck!! :goodvibes

Thanks Amy!! That was a quick reply. Now I am off to a bridal shower brunch. Should be a nice weekend here!! We are off to Londonderry later in the day for soccer.

Hurray for booking POR! I won't be much help because I would be happy staying in either of the sections. We stayed in the Mansions section in 2004 and liked them, but I like the somewhat rustic, bayou look of the Alligator section, too.

Hope you had a nice afternoon! :goodvibes We spent the day installing a new screen door! :headache:

I think I'd be happy in either section too... that's why I'm having such a hard time deciding! I think I'll leave it to Laura.

Yay for booking POR!!:yay: How fun to be planning a girls trip!:goodvibes

It's still not definite... and probably won't be until we book airfare, but I'm still excited!

Amy! I am still behind in all my reading, but I saw that you booked your trip so YAY!!! I hope to catch up on all my PTRs and TRs today!!! Rainy day here in MD, not much else to do but laundry and DIS :surfweb:

We made our way to H&V and checked in for brunch. We waited for about 10 minutes and were seated and found out that breakfast was over. I was a little sad because I love a good breakfast buffet, but nobody else seemed to mind.

Alex decided to join the show:

Alex enjoyed participating in the show, but Zach said, “I’m not good at singing & dancing!” :rotfl:

The food was decent… our CM must have spotted our pins because he brought us a cupcake (sorry no picture of the cupcake) and this card:

He then talked with us a bit about our volunteering.

Continued next post...

After lunch we headed to the Great Movie ride. I’ve never seen it so empty!

100_0587.jpg

We walked straight to the front of the theater then right into a car - we were in the front section... which meant we got the:

Next Nancy & I took Zach to the animation class. Tim & Alex went back to TSM. We just missed the 1:00 class and the next class wasn’t until 1:30 so I emailed Tim an update and we found a seat. While we waited Zach decided to make a pin trade. The CM near the waiting area of the class didn’t have any pins but directed Zach to the store. Nancy took him in and they made the trade, but Zach also spotted some pins to buy! I took him back over and we bought a box of Club Penguin mystery pins as well as a box of Star Wars mystery pins for Alex. I also got a couple pins for the girls next door (Laura’s daughters) who were watching our fish & frogs.

We were finally let in to the class and had to fill in all the seats leaving us on the end of the aisle but we could see OK. There was one girl in there who had drawn almost everything the CM offered so it came down to Eeyore & Stitch. We voted for Stitch, but the majority voted for Eeyrore. Here are our pictures (sorry no picture of Nancy's):

Here is mine (which I am pretty proud of):

Here is Zach's:

Zach was a bit discouraged with his…

After the class I emailed Tim & they had just ridden TSM and were headed to RnRC. We tried to catch up with them but missed them. I rode RnRC with Zach and then we all caught up after. Nancy wasn’t having anything to do with RnRC this time around! :rotfl2:

After RnRC, we decided it was time to head out. We had dinner at Teppan Edo later on but everyone wanted a quick break at the condo. I love that it was so close to WDW!

Up next: Our evening at Epcot

Amy I waved to you yesterday. Did you see me?? We were on 125 on our way to Londonderry & I saw the sign for your hometown so I said to my husband "That is where Amy lives". We misjudged how long it takes to get to Londonderry & we were 15 minutes late. Good thing my son was going with 2 teammates & they were there already.

Nice update. I have never tried the animation drawing. I can barely draw a stick figure & that is pushing it!!:) My DH is really great at it. We have a drawing of a fisherman in our living room that he did. We should try that sometime. We did the Great Movie Ride & just about walked on like you did but we had the gangster (we ALWAYS) get the gangster & I tried telling my DH that there is a cowboy but he did not believe me:rotfl2: NOW I can show him!!

I'm way behind in my reading too... just trying to keep up with this TR until I have time to get caught up with everyone else... You don't have too much time left until your next getaway!

Are your boys fans of Super Mario Galaxy 3? We'll be heading out shortly to pick up our copy... I made Tim promise me they wouldn't sit inside playing the video game all day. And I told the boys their rooms had to be clean before they could play. ;)

I am not an artist by any stretch of the imagination... the class is really good because it walks you through the drawing step by step. :thumbsup2 You should definitely try it sometime. It's also a nice place to cool off for a bit.

That's so funny that you waved to me! I thought you meant that you actually saw me somewhere! :rotfl: It would have been Lowe's or Home Depot because that's where we spent most of the morning picking out our new screen door. My red Kia minivan has four Mickey Mouse eared family member decals on the back window. I also have an autism awareness ribbon magent. Honk if you actually ever see me!

We've been lucky enough to have the cowboy twice... the first time it was actually a cowgirl! I think you have to sit in the front "train" of cars to get the cowboy... But from other TRs I've read, I don't think you always get the cowboy by sitting in the front. :confused3 The two times we've been in front we've gotten the cowboy.

will do...when I'm in your neck of the woods :rotfl:

sorry couldn't resist...

love the last two posts...

both TGMR and H & V looked empty....

Alex just cracks me up w/ the robot :rotfl2:

so what are mystery pins and how much please?

Dang...ypour Eeyore is too good, beats my Tigger from last yr and sweet luck on the cowboy...can't even remeber the last time we have had him or her or read about it...

so POP question...

where did you and your Mom stay was it 2 yrs back? :confused3 just debating is it worth tacking on a room request for location close to the Classic Hall or not for just one night...

I found a groovy thread all about POP, Matt and I have tweaked our Day 1) arrival plans a bit so I am trying to plan the day for the kids and GP's there, even found a nifty scavenger hunt for the resort...anyhow the thread said really all the buildings are pretty close...

wdyt? thanks

J~

and yes not at church again....Rach has a nasty crup like cough so she's home w/ me while I am ironing, cleaning and dising :rolleyes1

I've never seen the GMR so empty before either!

I think Zach's Eeyore is lovely! It really captures his forlorn personality! :thumbsup2

...we opted for POR, standard view!!

I booked it today!! I made a reservation for POR from Thursday 9/30 - Sunday 10/3. :banana::banana:

Hooray for a Girls' Trip!! :yay::woohoo::cool1:

I've yet to stay at POR but I think that either section has its advantages, theme-wise... both are pretty!

I will tell you from our two experiences staying at POFQ that the buses pick up at the Alligator Bayou section first.

I've been off the DIS for a few days and so I've got some catching up to do!!

Kathy

ETA: Okay, all caught up again!!

Wow, both H&V and GMR look so empty! You picked a great day for the Studios...

And you got the cowboy version! Lucky!

Fantastic that the condo is close enough for a midday break!

Looking forward to more,

Kathy

Somehow I got really behind....

I like the mystery pin boxes too. I always seem to get one in a box that I don't like and end up trading it....I figure that way someone can complete their collection.

Awesome update! :goodvibes I just love the Great Movie Ride! We've got to do the animation class. Never done it before. :confused3 I think they boys would really enjoy it.

Can't wait to hear about your evening at Epcot!

so i have been reading but not posting, so i think i will. The TR has been great and im loving your family. where is the animation drawing class thingy?:confused3

Hi Amy! Your Eeyore drawing is impressive! :thumbsup2

Cool that you got the Cowboy version of the GMR! That's pretty rare from what I understand. :)
