"Mom, this is like a whole new Disney!" New 7/30 - pg 43 - Final Thoughts & PTR Link

Great updates Amy!:thumbsup2

It looks like the boys had fun at H&V!:goodvibes That's very cool that they brought you a cupcake and card!

We've never done the Animation class before...I'm not sure why?:confused3 I know Nick would love it! I'll have to plan it for next trip! Oh and I think both drawings turned out very cute!!:thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about your Epcot night!

We enjoyed H & V when we went too. It looks like the boys enjoyed themselves! :) Great sketch Amy! You did great.

Great updates Amy!!! We went on The Great Movie Ride too without any wait later on on that day. The boys seemed to be having so much fun at the H & V brunch!! The animation drawings looked great!!! You both drew Eeyore a million times better than I ever could!!! Looking forward to hearing about your evening at Epcot!!!

Great update!
I want to try H&V. How was lunch?
Wow, that is one empty Great Movie Ride.

sorry couldn't resist...

love the last two posts...

both TGMR and H & V looked empty....

Alex just cracks me up w/ the robot :rotfl2:

so what are mystery pins and how much please?

Dang...ypour Eeyore is too good, beats my Tigger from last yr and sweet luck on the cowboy...can't even remeber the last time we have had him or her or read about it...

so POP question...

where did you and your Mom stay was it 2 yrs back? :confused3 just debating is it worth tacking on a room request for location close to the Classic Hall or not for just one night...

I found a groovy thread all about POP, Matt and I have tweaked our Day 1) arrival plans a bit so I am trying to plan the day for the kids and GP's there, even found a nifty scavenger hunt for the resort...anyhow the thread said really all the buildings are pretty close...

wdyt? thanks

J~

and yes not at church again....Rach has a nasty crup like cough so she's home w/ me while I am ironing, cleaning and dising :rolleyes1

Hmmm... I'll have to look back at receipts, which I have intended to do anyways, to see how much they cost. (I'm sitting outside watching Zach & his playdate "swim" in the little baby wading pool... It's about a million degrees here today!) If I remember correctly they cost about the price of one pin, but you get two... you just don't know which ones. Each box has a theme though... I'll have to take pictures of the pins they got.

I hate to admit that I don't exactly remember which building we were in at POP in 2008... I'll have to go back and look at that TR... I know we paid extra for preferred. I wouldn't worry too much about the location for one night. Nothing is super far away... everything is definitely walkable.

I've never seen the GMR so empty before either!

I think Zach's Eeyore is lovely! It really captures his forlorn personality! :thumbsup2

I couldn't believe it when we entered the GMR (mid-day too) and saw NOBODY in the room with the big movie screen. It's was a little bit eerie! The cars were filled up though.

Hooray for a Girls' Trip!! :yay::woohoo::cool1:

I've yet to stay at POR but I think that either section has its advantages, theme-wise... both are pretty!

I will tell you from our two experiences staying at POFQ that the buses pick up at the Alligator Bayou section first.

I've been off the DIS for a few days and so I've got some catching up to do!!

Kathy

ETA: Okay, all caught up again!!

Wow, both H&V and GMR look so empty! You picked a great day for the Studios...

And you got the cowboy version! Lucky!

Fantastic that the condo is close enough for a midday break!

Looking forward to more,

Kathy

It was a nice morning at DHS! Great crowd levels! :thumbsup2 I'm very conflicted about POR... :confused3 I'll ask Laura if she has a preference. And call me crazy... I could just leave it up to chance & see what happens.

Somehow I got really behind....

I like the mystery pin boxes too. I always seem to get one in a box that I don't like and end up trading it....I figure that way someone can complete their collection.

Traders are good! :thumbsup2

Awesome update! :goodvibes I just love the Great Movie Ride! We've got to do the animation class. Never done it before. :confused3 I think they boys would really enjoy it.

Can't wait to hear about your evening at Epcot!

The animation class is one of my favorites now! I'm not sure if Zach likes it as much anymore... but I'm sure we'll be back!

so i have been reading but not posting, so i think i will. The TR has been great and im loving your family. where is the animation drawing class thingy?:confused3

:welcome: Thanks for saying hi! The animation class is in courtyard where Voyage of the Little Mermaid & Playhouse Disney are. Go straight back & you'll eventually find it.

Hi Amy! Your Eeyore drawing is impressive! :thumbsup2

Cool that you got the Cowboy version of the GMR! That's pretty rare from what I understand. :)

Thanks Missy! I was pretty impressed with my Eeyore... I'm not an artist at all - they make it easy!

Julie- I just found my mystery pin box from 2008 for you.....2 pins $12. I'd plan $12 to $15.

.....Now if I could just find my 2009 pins and car toppers! ugh

Hey amy! Great updates!! Loving those pics from H&V. I'm glad TGMR was a walk on! We didn't get to ride that one but hopefully next trip! Wow! Great pic of Eeyore...even Zach's one is really good! (really!) Can't wait to see more pics!

I thought the cupcake & card were sweet! Except we didn't eat the cupcake... it was a buffet after all... and we'd already had several desserts. :rolleyes1

We enjoyed H & V when we went too. It looks like the boys enjoyed themselves! :) Great sketch Amy! You did great.

Thanks!! Alex definitely got into the fun at H&V!

The crowds were pretty good, didn't you think? :thumbsup2

Great update!
I want to try H&V. How was lunch?
Wow, that is one empty Great Movie Ride.

The food was just OK... Standard Disney buffet fare. Somehow that's my fourth or fifth time eating there... :confused3

Julie- I just found my mystery pin box from 2008 for you.....2 pins $12. I'd plan $12 to $15.

.....Now if I could just find my 2009 pins and car toppers! ugh

I finally pulled out my receipts and the pins were $12.95 per box.

Hi Keala!! We definitely had a great start to our trip!! :)

You all know that expression, right? Well apparently it works with tickers too!!

Today I booked my airfare for my girls weekend getaway with Laura!!:banana::banana: Laura will be booking hers when she gets home from a late night at work... any time now.

We are now officially going!! :cool1:

Yesterday she told me that she finally talked with her DH about it & he was totally on board. Then this morning when I checked Southwest, the flights down to Orlando were down from $154 to $134 so I encouraged her to book. The return flight was $193 (up from $174 when I first started checking) but she wanted to book that too!! If the rates drop, we'll re-book and I'll use the credits for our February trip! (I'll buy hers from her.)

So here's what we have planned so far:
Thursday, 9/30 arriving in Orlando at 10:20am (6 days after my birthday!!)
Staying three nights at POR - standard room
Sunday, 10/3 departing Orlando at 7:20pm - I assume our ME bus will be around 4 or 4:30?? :confused3

Now the fun begins... I hope to talk with Laura very soon about park plans, what she wants to see & where we want to eat. Stay tuned...

I'm thinking of just sharing the trip planning as I write this TR... that way I'll have to finish before the end of September. What do you think??

Congrats on booking air. Wish I could go this fall.....I just got a pin code for 40% off all resorts.....

Have you started planning Feb/March 2011 yet?

yay Amy! Congrats on booking your trip! i wish airfare from hawaii was that low...I would go more often!! Can't wait to hear your plans for that trip!

I love hearing about trip plans so YES post away!! That price coming home seems a little high. Hopefully they will go down.

Has it been hot enough for you?? I really love the heat but it seems too much & too soon. I am anxious to uncover our pool but they are still working on our house so hopefully by next weekend we will be back to normal:rolleyes1

Yay on the airfare!! I got my September flight booked as well. :thumbsup2 Your birthday is the 24th? That's my husband's birthday as well. Very neat! :goodvibes Please share your planning details, I'd love to see them!

Hello Amy! I am so dreadfully behind everywhere, but wanted to stop by and say hi. I hope to get caught up soon. :goodvibes

airfare makes it so real!

:cool1::cool1:

great H&V update and neat that they recognized your voluntEAR buttons that way!

Apparently I was in my own little world when we went to ride R-N-R that morning because I didn't even notice any work being done or that the guitar was covered up!!! :rotfl2: I didn't have my camera so I wasn't looking around taking pictures like usual. My dad and I jetted over there and my eyes were on the back of the CM's head we were following! I do remember looking at a little booth that was selling knick knacks, but I had NO IDEA the guitar was covered up until I just saw that on your TR!

Congrats on the airfare being booked!! So exciting!! :yay:
