Mom & Son with Dad + One - Going to say Goodbye to the Lights! Kona Cafe & now Complete!

Thanks for sharing! That Cobb salad looks so good....must get there to try it one day!

Your meal at HBD looks great, especially that brie and oyster soup. YUM!!!! Our last experience there was so bad I don't think I'll ever get the hubby back there, but one of these days somehow I'll taste that cobb salad and grapefruit cake as it looks divine.

So glad you all got to see the lights for the last time. Even if the food wasn't all that, it sounds like it was worth it to be away from all the crowds. Hate that we'll never see them, but pictures like yours bring them to life for me ; )

And love your pictures of your son and Julia.

Thanks! I was nervous about our HBD meal after yours but thankfully it was good with no major service issues!

Joining in, loving your review so far ! I'm so sad this is the last year of the Osborne lights, I wish we would've been able to go back one more time. I can't wait to read more!

Thanks! Really hoping the Lights show up somewhere next year!

HBD looks like it was a top notch meal, I would love to try it sometime, even it's just for the cobb salad. Love the pics of the lights, especially of the Lady and the Tramp table, I can't believe I missed seeing that!!

We walked around the area in the day time and saw it then. I am still not sure I would have noticed it at night! I think it was DH that saw it.

It is definitely a must try!

What a wonderful first full day! I love the setting of the Merry and Bright party... Right out there in the open! We did not do the party. When we were there, it was just dessert. It looked like such a great place to sit, though!

Your Cobb salad looked delicious and brie soup??? Yum! So glad you got to see the lights for the last time, they are really an amazing sight :)

I love your reviews! I am usually I lurker, but if I ever am at Disney the same the time you and/or Barb are, I hope we can have a meal together!

How wonderful you got to see the lights before they're gone! We're going to be at the World next week and I'm really looking forward to it, but kinda sad we missed the lights.

Enjoying your review, we have a lunch ADR at HBD and I'm definitely trying that Cobb Salad!

brie soup with oyster fritters ...

I've never tried this - but just put it on my "death row - last meal list."

I feel so blessed that we got to go enjoy this. It was truly magical getting to be there one last time.

I'm so glad you were able to enjoy the lights one more time. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I hope Disney is able to find a home for them in the future!

I keep hearing rumors that they will relocate the lights. I hope so! I just love the magical experience of the music and the dancing lights!

Yes, do!

Hmmm ... death row meal. I have to think on that one. Not sure what I would choose!

Yes, the lights, the music, the "snow" ... all magical!

So while at DHS, A&J mentioned that they kind of wanted to go to Animal Kingdom. I hadn't planned on going there but decided on that I could easily change our Saturday plans. So instead of spending the day at DTD and going to the MK at night, we would separate during the day and go to DTD that night. The only problem was that I could not change our Morimoto reservation from lunch to dinner (even thru Open Table) so we had to change our dinner plans. More on that later.

I didn't really want to go to AK so DH and I went to MK. First up we decided to try breakfast at a place a couple of my Dis friends really enjoy - Grand Floridian Café.

First a pic of the beautiful rose ....

And the menu ...

Coffee for DH but tea for me ... loved the tea box ...

And my choice ...

I knew from reading Barb's (jabeads) previous reviews that I had to have the French toast ...

And from reading Brenda's (emmysmommys) that I could substitute and egg for the meat ....

My friends did not let me down! The French toast was crisp on the edges, light and fluffy in the middle and flavored with a hint of vanilla. French toast perfection! The egg was ok, a typical Disney scrambled egg But it served its job in giving me the protein I needed.

DH had the Eggs Benedict ...

O ... M ... G! This was sooooo good. Instead of ham it had thick cut bacon that was smokey and perfectly cooked so that it was cooked thru but still a bit chewy. The only 'complaint' was that the egg was cooked slightly more than we would have preferred but that was not enough to ruin the dish.

We also shared the crispy hashbrowns ...

These were also amazing. Hot, crispy ... perfect with a bit of salt!

Our server was Jared and he was really great. Some of the best service we had all trip. Such a great meal that we decided to go back on Monday with the kids!

After breakfast we headed to the MK. Because of the anticipated crowds, the parade ran twice at 11am and 3:30pm. We got there in time to get a spot at the train station to watch the first parade ...

Truly awesome!

During the afternoon we shared a couple of snacks ...

First Starbucks iced tea and a couple of cake pops ...

Such a yummy sweet treat. I don't know which I liked better, the birthday cake or the chocolate!

Quick pick of my favorite room in my favorite MK ride ...

And last snack ....

A cream cheese stuffed pretzel. Yum. Slightly sweet, warm cream cheese. One of my favorite snacks!

We had a truly perfect day. After it being super hot, humid and sticky on Friday it was mid 60's, sunny and breezy on Saturday.

Next up ... dinner in Disney Springs!

What a great start GFC breakfast looks amazing!!!!

It definitely was! Love the quote in your signature. DS recently had a Walt Disney quote tattooed on his upper, inner arm ... "Happiness is a State of Mind, It's just According to the way you Look at Things".

Thank you. Wow! His tattoo sounds very cool! Walt is for sure, the man & a true inspiration!

GFC sounds fabulous! Wow. We will have to go there sometime. That french toast looks so good. And I can totally see the thickness of the bacon on that eggs benedict :thumbsup2 Looks so delicious.

We <3 that sweet cream cheese pretzel! We have plans to try the jalapeno one sometime, too. :goodvibes

Eggs Benedict with thick cut bacon? YUM! I would have a hard time deciding between that and the french toast!
Haunted Mansion is my favorite too and the ghost room as well, very good taste :thumbsup2

Oh, when in October? We are planning the end of Sept. beginning of Oct. for our 15th Anniversary.

We will be going the last week in October. We are flying in either the 21st or 22nd and leaving on the 31st. Its too bad our trips don't match up.

We had planned to try the jalapeno one this trip and just didn't get around to it. I think DS and I will in March.

We got stuck in that scene for a few minutes this trip. I loved it! There always seems to be something I hadn't seen before. Hoping DH will share both dishes with me on our return trip in October!
