"Mom, My Wish Came True!" Our best-trip-ever-week-before-Thanksgiving '09 TR!

Thank you Thank you Thank You !!!

Fantatstic update and fab day. I love the look on Lilys face when she was annoyed with you made me laugh out loud.

Louisex x x

So glad you enjoyed the updates today -- I did them JUST for you!

Been following your blog and while I'm glad Cam's operation isn't considered "life-saving", I sure hope they get you in SOON. I'm so sorry you have to go through all this, no one as lovely as you should have this much pain in your life. I hope you had a great time at the movies! And make sure you are taking care of yourself, too. You deserve a bubble bath and a cup of hot cocoa tonight!

I second that!!!

And I love the look on Lily's face too Shannon :) My daughter would be shooting me the same look I'm sure :)

Hi Applemomma! Disney trip #3 in 2 years ~$2,000. Seeing the glare on your DD's face when you make her see ITTBAB before the parade, priceless!

Looks like from your ticker you are going to Disney this year right around the same time we did for this trip! You are in for a treat if you've never been at that time. None of us can still believe how low wait times were for everything -- and the weather was PERFECT!!! ;)

That's why I'm so interested in your trip report.....helps me to plan! The only thing I'm really hoping for is that resort crowds are low enough that we don't have to look at the parking lot at AKL even though I booked standard. Do we have a sticky for fingers crossed?

Thank you both :hug::hug::hug:

We never made it to the movies because Cam decided he didnt want to get dressed so we played carsd instead - made me laugh so much Cam has no poker face at all but my 7 yr old was just too good :scared1:

keira slept blissfully on the couch through the whole afternoon - bless her :thumbsup2

GREAT! Then you see you should be in for an AWESOME trip! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you -- I bet you'll get lucky!

Sounds like a fun day! It was rainy and yucky here over the weekend, so we had a movie marathon on Saturday. After the 3rd movie, Lily texted her aunt Janie "I can't take it anymore!" The girl is definitely her mother's daughter, but there's where we differ. Movie marathon is my favorite type of day. Rain outside, couch, snacks, movies -- yay! Meanwhile Lily was doing so many back flips off the exercise ball her tummy muscles were sore. Wish I had that kid's energy!!

Have a great Monday everyone!!!

You have inspired me to give Animal Kingdom another chance. We usually just rush through and do Everest, Safari, Dinosaur. After reading your chapter, I want to do the trails and take my time!

Thanks for all the pictures of the Boma food! I've been wondering if I would like it there, and now I think I would.

Denise

LOVED your update and pics.... Lily reminds me of someone, but I can't figure out who???:confused3
I ate at Boma alone on a Friday back in October. I had to fly to Orlando to teach a workshop and I stayed in the Hilton in DTD.. I had a suite!! I missed my DH and kids though. At any rate, I went over to Kidani Village to check it out for this summer and ate at Boma... alone. It was great, though. We have reservations for a Monday night... I just looked to see LOL. Hope it is as good then as that Wednesday night looks:)

Just found your trip report and it is great. You are doing a wonderful job of telling a great story. I'm really interested in it because we are thinking about going this year around the same time that you went. This past year, we went the week after Thanksgiving, but there were still some crowds and I got behind on all my Christmas stuff by being gone that week. So I think the week you went is a great option.

I love your comment about the Wolf's Dance Orlando video. I LOVE IT too. They have a Christmas version out now, not as good since it isn't in Disney World, but still great.

Looking forward to the rest of your trip report. Oh and as one Pooh sized person to another, I feel the same way when I look at the pictures of me. I'm like OMG. Maybe before our next trip, I'll finally lose weight.

Aw, I'm glad my report is conveying how much I love Animal Kingdom. As you could see, we had a little trouble at the end even fitting it all in!! I do love that park. As for Boma, I always think of it as an eating adventure. Everything seems so exotic and it's so much fun to just try everything!

Someone famous?? ;) If you are interested in pretty much all they'll have at Boma on a Monday, you could check out the link to my Feb trip report -- I think I did pretty much the same thing for our Boma meal that time! As I said in my report, I preferred Wed, but my mom liked Monday better -- so you could be in for a treat! :woohoo:

Awww, thank you so much for coming over to my report! None of us could really say enough about what a great week we were there. I bet it was the BEST week in all of 2009 to be there!!! Lily and I are going again this year, but since she's insisted she doesn't want to miss a whole week of school again we'll go from Thursday after school till Tuesday. The other option was a couple days' longer trip during MLK week, but after what the weather down there has done this year, we're going back in Nov!!

I LOVE the Wolf's videos, and just saw their Christmas one this weekend. Have you seen their Branson, MO one? I wish I could even come close to doing one of those!

Janie called me last week having a minor meltdown about the pics of HER in my report, too. Guess it's universal! We look so cute in the mirror, don't we? ;) Best of luck on the weight loss, it sux! :thumbsup2

This is a most fantastic, funny, sweet, engaging trip report if I ever read one! One of the best I have read to date. Just love your whole family...too cute!! We were in Disney for our first family vacation Nov 2009 over thanksgiving too and although our wait times were good, they were NOTHING compared to yours!! Lucky Ducks!
I have to agree with you, the weather was so very perfect, parks weren't too crowded, lines were good, it was a great time to visit. I keep trying to talk my hubby into going this June but he refuses....more because he says I will be evil (from the humidity and scorching sun) and he is probably right. So we are booked to return the same time this Nov...just wish it was sooner! I so love Disney!

Looking forward to more of your report! :yay:

I am loving your trip report! It is because of your trip report that we decided to go during that same week this coming November. Maybe we will see you there it would be great to meet up with another diser. As another poster said you have made me want to give animal kingdom another try. I dont know why but we have never taken the time to just explore this park and now I cant wait to!!

Wow! Those are some really kind words!! Thanks so much for joining me! I need to get the darn thing done already -- it's almost February!!

I'm with your dear hubby on the June thing! I know I would be a hateful witch trying to tour in that heat, as MUCH as I love Disney! Think of it this way, you have the whole summer to enjoy, THEN you get the added fun of a Disney trip before you get too far back into another winter! It's pretty much the perfect strategy. :thumbsup2

Thanks again for reading. I'm off work tomorrow, so I'm planning on getting this trip report done (only 1 1/2 more days of our best-ever trip left :sad2:). Stay tuned!

Thank you so much!!! Normally I might be a little nervous that someone decided on their vacation week because I said it was so great. But honestly, there simply can't be a better week to go! Do you know where you guys are staying yet? I'd love to see you there!

Like I said to praisehisname, I'm so glad my enthusiasm for AK shows in my report. I really think it's become my 2nd favorite park. Hope you have a good time exploring, and if you still don't like it as much, nothing wrong with that! It does deserve one more chance, though! ;)

We are staying the the Wilderness Lodge, how about you? One more thing that I think I am going to try this trip is watching the parades. Out of all the trips we have made to disney we have never seen one other than in passing but this time I am going to make a point to see them.

We're going to stay at POFQ again. Loved it there and not quite ready to make the jump to deluxe yet!! Though WL would be my choice. A work friend who goes every year stays there and LOVES it!

Not even Spectromagic? We didn't get to it on this trip, but it's one of the best! And as I said in my report, we LOVE the AK parade (my 2nd fave after Spectro). And since there'll probably be a MVMCP when we're there this year, that parade was AWESOME, too. Especially the toy soldiers! I'm dying to see the MNSSHP parade, too, for the Headless Horseman. Someday...

I have seen the Branson Mo one. It's good, but not as good as the other two. I don't know how they plan it out so well. We tried our hand at it our last trip, but I really don't know how to cut and paste and do all those technical things with it and haven't had time to sit down and try to learn. Maybe I'll get it done before our next trip. Maybe we will see you down there, because between your trip report and just looking at our other options, I think we are fairly set on going down there the same time that you went down there last year.

If we end up meeting up with eachother I would love to come over to POFQ to check it out, it looks like a beautifal resort. I know can you believe it I havent even seen spectromagic!!! :scared1: I guess the main reason is I never thought my son would want to sit there and watch but now that he is older I think he would really enjoy it. You will have to give me a run down on the best parades and the best places to watch them because I have no clue.

Lily loves the Branson one, I think she really likes the song. She put it on her Itunes the other day, and I know that's the only place she heard it. If you get it all figured out, let me know because I'd LOVE to see your video! You have just over 9 months to get it done! ;)

I was just looking more closely at your sig because I wanted to remember how old Ethan is. WOWWWEE is all I can say about how many trips you guys have taken since 2008! I am so JEALOUS!! Here I am, going on about my 3rd measly trip! So now that Ethan is 4, yes, it is HIGH time you at least stake out Spectro!!! You would be welcome to come over to POFQ to meet us, but I think Lily and I should head over to YOUR place! Do you have any trip reports? If not, I think you should make one!

She was excited because she'd been wanting to try a churro ever since she watched the "Wolfs Dance Orlando" video on youtube (if you haven't seen it yet, go watch it, it's freakin' awesome!!!)

Shannon, I know you posted this a while ago, but I'm just reading (and thoroughly enjoying) your trip report now.

Thanks for introducing me to "Wolfs Dance Orlando." It was funny, adorable, and unexpectedly moving (for me at least). I loved it!!!
