I just wanted to share that today would have been my MOM's 71st Birthday. I normally don't post things like this, but what the hey.. My mom was really my best friend when I got older. She was a fiesty lady who held nothing back LOL! Even when she should have..
I was her "baby" and always referred to as that. Even when I was in my 20's - I was referred to as the baby
- My 96 year old Grandmother still referrs to me as the baby!!!
Well I lost my MOM to a long battle with heart disease and diabetes back in 1996. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of her!
Even when I moved 2 states away - I would have to go and take her out for dinner at least once a week! I would call her every single day - she would call me too - just to say she loved me. One time - when I first started here at my current job, she was in Florida staying with my Grandmother for the winter and she couldn't get hold of me on the phone. She went to the receptionist and told her who she was, and wanted to leave a message that she loved me! ( She didn't understand that I had voice mail
and would never wait to leave a message!
So, we have a paging system and the receptionist at the time got on the paging system for the whole company to hear - Attention Tony T...... - Mom called to say she loves you!!!! Well I still never live that one down!
There are so many stories - but I just wanted to share how much I miss my MOM. I miss taking her to the casino so she could play her slots, I miss taking her to the diner, I miss taking her for her dialysis (sp?) treatments, I miss having her stay over at my apartment sometimes on the weekends. ( She loved to do that because I let her eat what she wasn't supposed to sometimes LOL!) (She lived with my older Sister who would watch everything she ate / did etc)
Anyway - I love you MOM!
