We are going to try to post nightly during the next 9 days while we are here enjoying our summer trip.

We landed late at MCO and picked up our rental car. Ran to Target to pick up some supplies since we are here for the next 9 nights. Also got a supply of Diet Pepsi. Life isn't the same without Diet Pepsi.

Checked in with the front desk at All Star Movies to ask for a room change as I much prefer ground floor. They accommodated me with the ground floor but not in the section but we ended up loving our location.

Originally our plan was to eat at the Plaza in MK for dinner but yesterday afternoon I decided to get a rental car and so I cancelled that ADR. Didn't find anything that looked of interest on the trip from Target to ASMo so we ended up at the food court.

DD got the steak with green beans and mashed potatoes:

(sorry if you are reading this when I'm first posting as I may need to try this adding photo thing a few times)

This got 4 1/2 out of 5 (for a quick service)... she wished there was more mashed potatoes... the green beans were nicely seasoned and the herb butter gave the steak a lot of flavor. She did add tomatoes, pickles and onions from the dressing bar.

I had the build your own salad with chicken and balsamic dressing on the side:

At first I was a bit afraid that we were paying a lot for a tiny salad but it just kept growing and growing and in the end was very good. The dressing was a hit and anytime I can add cransins to a salad it is a win for me. I only wish they had blu cheese crumbles.

I'm a bit harder of a grader and give this a 3 of 5.

All in all a great start to our Disney summer vacation.

So we are taking an afternoon break on Day 2. This morning we ate breakfast in the room... Starbucks Iced Coffee for me and a banana and rice pudding for DD. We then headed to HS. The bus situation leaving this morning was horrid and I don't often complain about scooters but we missed out on the first bus by 3 people after waiting 25 minutes for it. Then waited another 20 minutes for the next bus only to have two scooters come up at the last minute and of course they loaded them first - they should - I get that part but then both had HUGE parties with them. Why does Disney have a rule, and have it posted at the bus stops if they don't follow it?? The signs clearly state that if you are a party of six (don't quote me) or more that you will need to break up. We got on the bus since we were the next in line but people in line not far behind us ended up not making it and they had waited almost that 45 minutes right with us.

ANYWAYS... onto the food.

We had a noon ADR for Beaches and Cream. We left HS at 1135 after riding Star Tours and Toy Story and seeing the March of the First Order and meeting Kylo Ren. We arrived just a few minutes after noon and was given a pager only to turn around to sit down and have it go off that our seat was ready. I maybe got three steps away from the podium.

We knew exactly what we wanted so we ordered right away:

DD ordered the Patty Melt with French Fries. She orders this on every trip and gave it a 5 of 5. The fries were hot and tasted perfect, the patty melt was cooked perfect and had exactly enough of the dressing.

I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup. I do mix it up but this is one of my goto favorites! It didn't disappoint. DD even allowed me to seal a few fries.

We then shared:

The No Way Jose!! Even splitting this thing and leaving quite a bit we left feeling stuffed! In the 45 minutes we were seated three families ordered The Kitchen Sink..... I don't know how but one family of three finished it!

We did have a bit of entertainment as the table next to us was upset over something we never really figured out but they were throwing large adult fits. He even sent his wife out because he "wanted to deal with it his way". The manager came over and wisked him towards the back. Before that happened he had ordered shakes to go with lids. As soon as he sat back down the waitress delivered them and sat the lids down beside them. He yelled back "I told you I needed lids" and she walked back and picked them up off the table and said "oh did you need lids like these?". I had to swallow my laugh!!

Back at the resort and headed to swim before deciding where we are headed to next.

Day 2 had a very wet end to the day... after our afternoon break and a trip to the pool we took a small nap and woke up to ... Rain! We didn't have dinner plans but wanted to make it back to HS for the fireworks. After getting caught in a downpour we ended up at the Backlot Studios with hundreds of others trying to escape the rain but we wanted to eat.

We both decided on the Caprese sandwich with french fries. The receipt called it a Tatoonie Tomato sandwich. After ordering DD wondered for quite a bit trying to find a place to sit. The tables were all filled with people not eating and escaping the rain.

Maybe we are easy but the sandwich was pretty good... 3 1/2 out of 5 and they got the fries right.

Headed to Star Tours which said was a 30 minute wait... haha that was funny as we walked on and right into our space flight. Dodged the rain some more to go get a photo opp with Chewie. It was still raining afterwards so we decided to head back to the hotel room for the night. We have a big day tomorrow with the EPCOT DestinNations Discovered tour and dinner at Boma. Boma will be a first for us and I'm looking forward to it!

That No Way Jose looks amazing!!! I really tried to fit in a visit to the Beach Club to get my hands on one of these, but I just couldn't make it work. One of these days!

Following along & craving ice cream after seeing that sundae. So glad I have an ADR for b&c.

Loving your daily reviews! Your ice cream looks amazing! I am always envious of people's ice cream because I love it, but can't eat it.

Enjoying your reviews! Call me simple but your Caprese sandwiches with fries look yummy! Definitely adding that to my list.
