Mom/Daughter duo goes to Disney again: To Celebrate BOTH our graduations!

Join me for another Mom/Daughter trip report! (late TR, that is!) Our travel dates were June 20-27, 2013, but I am just now getting this thing started!


Hope my Dis-friends will stick around and hopefully enjoy our adventures, and maybe I'll even get this TR done, before our next planned trip (details to come later!)


So, here we are for those who haven't read any of my previous reports.

Mom/Daughter duo, who loves everything Disney, especially our Disney trips! We've been to WDW 9 times, and have been on 2 Disney cruises. We always travel together and we love it! On this trip, though, we were joined by some family and friends for a couple of days (will get to that later).

When: June 20-27, 2013

Where: We stayed at the Clarion Inn LBV. We have stayed both onsite and offsite, so for this trip, for budgeting reasons, we decided to stay offsite again. We have stayed at this hotel before and we loved it.

We flew Allegiant airlines and got a rental car.

We had a few rainy days, but definately had a wonderful time!!
The biggest reason for this trip was to celebrate BOTH our graduations! My DD graduated from high school, and I graduated from Tech, with a Diploma in Applied Science with a major in Pharmacy Tech. It was pretty hard going back to school (being so.... old), but I'm glad I did, and I will soon be starting a new Pharmacy Tech job!!!

I can't believe how far I have fallen behind on the Dis!!!

We arrived June 20th. We flew Allegiant Airlines, and had a normal, uneventful flight. We got hooked on flying for our trips! An hour flight is soooooo much better than a 10 hr drive, by yourself!! And I've always been able to get really good deals on Allegiant.

We arrived at Sanford airport, which is an hour drive to Orlando. We got a rental car and was on our way. (Got pic of car the next morning, as it's usually late, or raining when we get there.)

We stayed at the Clarion Inn LBV, located right outside the entrance to DTD. We've stayed there before and liked it pretty well!

We got all our things settled, and was looking forward to our 1st stop, even if it was raining......soooooo worth it!!!!

The next morning, I had to get a pic of the rental car:

My daughter got this as a gift for graduation (everyone knows we LOVE Disney), but the car didn't have an outside antenna, so we just put it here:

And we were on our way to Magic Kingdom! :

I love Earl of Sandwich...it's definitely our favorite DTD restaurant!

That's probably one of our favorite offsite places we've stayed at.

As I started reading your recent TR, I noticed we both went to Crystal Palace on our MK day!! Great minds (or Disney minds) think alike!

Our first full day would be a day at MK, with a ADR for Crystal Palace for lunch. We slept in a little bit, and was on our way.

We decided not to venture off too far from CP since our ADR was close, so we got there just in time for the parade.

We went to some shops and DD made her first purchase of the trip!

And it was now time for Crystal Palace! Love this place!

After lunch, DD was on a mission: to get to Gaston's! She had done some research on some of the new stuff we had to do! I thought this was a cute addition to MK!

And she made her purchase! I thought it was pretty good, especially on a hot, summer day!!

We then made our way to the Little Mermaid ride. This was another new addition that I couldn't wait for!!!

The stand by wait time wasn't bad, but I was glad there was a little wait so I could look at all the great details of the que!

The ride was shorter than I expected, but it was really cute!

Love the queue of the Little Mermaid, but I agree, the ride is too short.

I have yet to get to CP, it looks tasty and you both got great pictures with the characters

I would love to only have a 10 hour drive to Disney... Mine is a 24 hour drive... Or a 2.5 hour direct flight (which don't exist anymore because AirTran left our airport) or a 6-7 hour day with a connecting flight somewhere and a layover...

But with you being the only driver, flying is the way to go...

We love CP, for both breakfast and lunch.

I noticed your Minnie ears too! I think they're so cute! And she also bought that top, the night before at DTD!

Yeah, that drive is pretty rough! Even though DD has driver's license now, I still wouldn't want her driving on the highway.

She loves shopping at DTD right before the park days!!

We then headed towards Storybook Circus, something else new for us:

The meet for Minnie & Daisy was 45 minutes, so we waited.

I thought this character meeting area was cute!

Afterwards, we stopped to check out all the tasty-looking treats!

This is what DD chose, cake pop:

And then the clouds came rolling in!!!!!

So we made a quick trip to the potty

And find some shelter, at Mickey's PhilharMagic
