Mom/Daughter Christmas Disney Trip: A Procrastinator's Plans in Progress

My mom got the same camera for em on Black Friday! I haven't got to try it yet though Hopefully she lets me have it before our trip

I love all of your decorations! We have spent the weekend doing the same thing!

I love all your Disney decorations. I think I have 1 disney ornament.....I need to start collecting.

Only 1?? I think I have went overboard with all my stuff (that's what DD says, anyway). That's OK, though, I'll probably buy more at WDW!

Love all the decorations! Love the dog bed, so cute! I was 'called' to the Disney Store yesterday, got a few more ornaments, and found Stitch dressed in Christmas pajamas! I always spend more than I should in there...

Thanks! I want to get back to the Disney store and get the Minnie dressed in Christmas pajamas. Only thing is, the closest store to us is near Atlanta, which is about 1 1/2 hours from me. But I'm hoping to go back there before Christmas.

DD finally got her Christmas tree up. Notice there's no sign of Mickey...

I think she's been overloaded with all the Disney decor downstairs!
I asked her if she wanted some of my Mickey stuff for her tree (because I actually have more stuff than what i even have out), and she just looked at me like I was crazy!

She let me have the camera! I am actually going to use it to take family pictures for my brother! So I will be able to get some practice with it!

Want to know why "procrastinator" is the perfect word in my title???


I have not hardly got anything done and ready for the trip! I have never felt so unprepared for a Disney trip!!

I do have my paperwork somewhat organized and got my camcorder mini tapes ordered from ebay. That's about it. No packing, nothing.

I've got to see if I can find a really good packing list on the Disboards somewhere. Since I'm getting things done at the last minute, I know I'm going to forget something.

I'm even thinking that my "schedule" is probably going to change a little once we get there. We had planned to go to MK on the 19th, but I've read that it's going to be a very crowded day! Well, every day is probably going to be very crowded anyway. So we'll see!



I found a cute little "countdown to Christmas" Mickey calendar thingy. I found it when we went to a local Christmas craft fair.

So you may be asking "Why haven't you done anything THIS weekend to get ready? "

Well, Friday, me & my sis went to Georgia, near Atlanta to do some Christmas shopping. The closest Disney store to us is 1 1/2 hours from us, so it's always a "day trip" to do that!


Saturday, I helped my Grandma get all the rest of her Christmas decor done, cleaned her house and did her grocery shopping (which I do every 2 weeks anyway). So Friday and Saturday were all filled up with no time to focus on our trip. Today I'm catching up on my housecleaning and trying to get something done!


Hopefully since I'm done with school for this semester, and since DD will be in school Mon., Tues., & Wed., maybe I can be ready for this trip when it gets here!!!!!!

I've never used park hoppers. We just do one park a day, usually open till close. If we want to leave for a break, we just go back to that same park.

I just got back last night and I so wish it had been a longer trip, but four days was better than nothing. We didn't need sunblock but it was hot enough that we didn't need sweatshirts until evening, but we did need them. It rained a bit so you might want ponchos, but you can always buy them at the parks. I wished I'd had sandals. I can't think of anything else. I never pack until the night before though.

All the decorations were so beautiful!

Thanks for the info!! I guess we'll probably take enough for whether it's warm or cool. I checked the weather forecast and it's supposed to be 78-80 all week, during the day anyway. But we'll take capri's, jeans, and shorts, to be on the safe side. And my DD "lives" in flip-flops all year anyway, so I know she'll be taking hers!

I don't like to pack too early, and I've been waiting to see the weather reports also. So I am hoping to get packed tonight.

Been packing today and getting everything ready. DD didn't get finished with her stuff yet, so after school, we're going to have to get everything done!

We'll probably go out to eat, because I AM NOT cooking and washing dishes before we leave!


I also went & stocked up some extra meds. I always try to take a little bit of everything, cause you never know!!

But really, since last night, I have been coughing & sneezing and I'm worried that I'm going to end up getting a cold, the flu or something. Our weather is so crazy here. All last week it was cold and rainy, now for the last few days it's been sunny & warm! Everytime the weather changes like that, either me or DD ends up sick. She also has asthma, so it makes her worse. She's doing fine, though, for now, and I hope we can make it back "sick-free"!!! So along with her usual asthma medications, I'll have plenty of "stuff"!



Hoping to leave at a decent time tonight and not be rushing. It takes 2 hours to drive to Columbia Amtrak station, and it doesn't leave until 1am, so I still have some time to get everything done.


So if I don't get a chance to check back in before we leave, just wanted to say thanks to all my Dis'ers for keeping up with my PTR!!

Hey. Thought i would give a quick "live" update. Since i am bored at the moment. About half way to our trip to columbia the amtrak message system called my cell and let me know that our train was running late and would not be leaving till 3.15am! So we went to eat and didnt have much to do . Well we actually left closer to 330. So we were very tired but havent gotten much sleep. I dont think we will make it in time for the college tour. We both want to get checked into ASM and get rested. So thats how this trip has started out. But the good thing is: it can only go uphill from here right??
