Mom/Daughter Christmas Disney Trip: A Procrastinator's Plans in Progress

oh how nice! my mom & I would do college tours ALL THE TIME!

I love your ideas!
I am having wardrobe issues as well, I only have about three outfits picked out. It's hard knowing what type of top you can wear.
I am so excited for your trip. Are you going to do a trip report?!
if so, I would love to see your pictures!

have a great day my friend!:goodvibes

Oh, it sounds like you are going to have a great trip! Count me in for the ride. :thumbsup2

Your DD is so beautiful! And how wonderful that you two enjoy time together so much. :lovestruc

Thank you!

I plan to do a TR when we get back, and I'm going to get this one updated by this weekend!

Have you checked out my other TR's? I always put tons of pics on mine.

I'm going to try to get back to the Disney Store before our trip, to get a few more T shirts, and I love the new Christmas merchandise. I don't want to get much, though, because I know WDW will have tons of Christmas merchandise. But at the Disney Store, they had the cutest Minnie plush with Christmas pajamas that I want to go back & get. We don't get to go as often as I'd like, because the closest one to us, is right outside of Atlanta, about an hour & a half from us.

Update:

College Tour: :cool1:

We are scheduled to do a college tour on the day we arrive. I think it really worked out well because we are scheduled to be there at 2pm. The Amtrak should arrive about 10:30am, and they have a large restroom inside the Orlando station where we can get ready. Then we will go have lunch, go to the college tour, then check in to our first hotel, ASM.

I have been debating on adding MVMCP to our schedule. There is a thread on the Theme Parks Strategies board, discussing that they may not be having the regular Christmas parade after the last MVMCP day, which has me a little worried, because I really want to see that parade!!

We are schedule for Animal Kingdom on the 16th and they close at 6pm, so I'm wondering if it might be too hectic to add MVMCP to that night.

DD wants to try to replace 50's Prime Time Dinner with a character dinner, so I'm going to have to call them tomorrow to see if anything is available.

Everything's been hectic and I miss being able to spend TONS of time on here like I normally would. With getting ready for the finals, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc., I have been extra busy!!!!

I think it would work out nicely to do MVMCP after Animal Kingdom. I've decided not to do it on our trip only because we haven't ever seen the Christmas decorations before and it being only a four day trip there's so much to pack in already. On a side note, I never seem to have enough time at Animal Kingdom, I wish their hours weren't so short all the time...

How excellent you'll be able to get in a college tour.

I hope finals go well, make sure to get lots of rest, the brain likes rest :)

I decided to add MVMCP to our schedule on Dec 16th. I'm planning to keep AK for that day, and just leave a little early for the MVMCP. At the end of our week, I have our last day "open", so if we can't get everything done at AK that day, we may go back there before we leave. The Amtrak doesn't leave until about 7pm, so we'll have some extra time that day.

YAY!!!:yay:
I am doing MVMCP after my monring at AK!
now I am just wondering if I should still go to MK my last day or do another day at EPCOT!

what do you think?

My mom and I will be at the same MVMCP!!! We are looking forward to it! It will be my second MVMCP... I am so excited the trips are getting closer:banana:

Is your MVCMP the only day that you're going to MK? If so, I would definately go back to MK on your last day.

Since we will have an extra day before going home (or rather half a day), I think we're going to just skip Epcot and go back to AK or MK. Just depends on how much we can get done with our half day at AK on the MVMCP day.

I know! It is getting so close. Maybe we will see you there!

I like your plan to go to AK in the morning and then the MVMCP in the evening. We have tickets for MVMCP on Dec. 13th and it's a smart idea since we usually only spend a half day at AK anyway. Time to go update my itinerary!

I am going to MK next MOnday which has EMH until 1am! Soooo I will be having tons of MK time :goodvibes

but really, when I think of disney world, I think of MK sooooo one full day + MVMCP + my last day = a nice amount of MK time!

:thumbsup2 I am hoping this is my last time changing my itinerary!:rotfl:

Our MK day is also a EMH day, until 1am!! So I think we'll have plenty of time there, too. And since I'll be cutting our day short at AK, we may go back there on our last day (instead of another day at MK).
I'm leaving that day open, so it will either be AK or MK.

I hope I have finalized my itenarary this time!
Here are my plans after revising a little bit:

Dec 15th - arrive, College Tour, Check in ASM, DTD
Dec 16th - 1/2 day AK (Tusker House lunch), then MVMCP
Dec 17th - HS (cancelled 50's Prime Time)
Dec 18th - Check in AKL, "free day"
Dec 19th - MK (9am-10pm) with EMH (10pm-1am)
Dec 20th - Cape May breakfast, "free day"
Dec 21st - 1/2 day park??, then Amtrak to home

Since I have a couple of "free days", we plan to do some resort tours, shopping, and use our other park ticket for one of those days, probably our "going home" day, since Amtrak doesn't leave until about 7, but we'll have to be there an hour before departure. (And that's a whole 'nother adventure that I learned from our cruise trip taking the Amtrak). You'll just have to check out my cruise 2011 if you want to find out what happened! :rotfl:

I have a few goals that I hope to accomplish over this weekend. Since DD & I have a long 5 day holdiay weekend off, I need to get some stuff done!

1. Catch up on my school work and prepare for finals.

2. Not over-eat at Thanksgiving! And get some excercise in.

3. Go see The Muppets Movie!!

4. Get all Christmas decor & tree put out.
(Can you guess what my "theme" is?)

5. Get my Disney trip info organized and make sure I make copies of emails, confirmations, etc.

6. Check my budget bucket and get all my coins rolled. I haven't quit made my goal of trying to put back enough to cover park tickets, but I do have a ton of change that I have been tossing in there!

I have accomplished one little goal, getting my hair cut, finally. It is long overdue, and I finally made time to do it. Well, the lady that does my hair must have mis-heard me when I told her to take a couple inches off. I think she thought I said, "Chop it all off!" But after I got home, worked with it, straightened it, etc., I really like it. It's probably half the length it was (a little longer than the very first picture on page 1 of this PTR.).

Update on my "goal" list;

1. Catch up on my school work and prepare for finals. NOT done!

2. Not over-eat at Thanksgiving! And get some excercise in.
I really did good on Thanksgiving. I didn't eat much, and didn't take any leftovers home!!
Didn't get any real excercise in, unless walking up & down stairs 50 times lugging Christmas decorations downstairs, counts as excercise! :yay:

3. Go see The Muppets Movie!! DONE! It was a really cute, funny movie!!

4. Get all Christmas decor & tree put out. I'm about 1/2 way done with that...

5. Get my Disney trip info organized and make sure I make copies of emails, confirmations, etc. NOT DONE!

6. Check my budget bucket and get all my coins rolled. I haven't quit made my goal of trying to put back enough to cover park tickets, but I do have a ton of change that I have been tossing in there!
I put almost $30 worth of coins in rolls so far. That gets tiring so I'll have to finish with that later...

Countdown is on!!!!

20 More Days!!!

:cheer2:

You've been quite productive! We still have no Christmas decorations up.

Glad to hear that about the Muppets Movie, that has been on my list since I first saw the preview.

Hooray for the countdown!!!!

I finally finished with my Christmas decorations, and gotten a little more caught up on school work. I am SOOOO gonna be ready for a vacation after all of this!

I finally finished with my Christmas decorating. So I have been playing around with this new camera I got for myself on black friday. It's a Nikon Coolpix L105. I think it's fairly new, because I can't find much info or reviews on it. So I have been taking lots of pics, and trying it out. The camera I already have is a Canon, and it's pretty good. I just wanted something different.

Here's a few Christmas decor pics:
