Mom/Daughter Celebration Trip: A Tale of 2 Graduates!

:banana:It's so exciting to see your plans all written out! I can't wait to hear what you think about 50's Prime Time!!! And I love that you have an "off" day built in there!

The hotel looks really, really nice! I think you made a great choice! And you can't beat the location!

I'm interested to hear what you think about Theme Park Connection. I see some of their posts on FB, and wondered exactly how much stuff they carry.

Glad you're here!! :wave2:

Your plans sound great :) I've tried to plan in an off day but can never stick with the plan. 50s Prime Time is delicious!

I'm hoping to stick to our plans, but we'll see how it goes!
Can't wait to try 50's Prime Time.

You will definitely enjoy 50's Prime Time! The server you get makes a bit of a difference too but the food is very hearty and yummy. :thumbsup2

Your hotel looks nice! I understand the trip on a budget thing all too well. Sure wish I could win that lottery. I'd take tons of trips and buy into DVC for sure! haha!!

Your plans sound awesome! :)

:thumbsup2

We are scheduled to participate in another Disney Y.E.S. program this time!!

This is a great, interesting program for all ages, from elementary school to college.

Last year we did the "Exploring Careers in the Marine Sciences" program. For those who don't know about this, I thought I'd explain it the best I could, and share a link to the page from last year's TR that has more info and pics.

The Disney Y.E.S. program is a hands-on learning experience that is Disney themed. There are many programs to choose from, based on the age of the participant. Classes usually last about 3 hours, and you get to learn lots of "back-stage" information, based on the class subject.

Last year, we got to go back-stage to the dolphin area at Epcot. Here's the link with more info for those interested:

This time around, we're doing the program: "Exploring Disney Animation History". DD has taken an interest in Art this school year, and is very interested in it.

We are excited to do this. Not only do you get a great learning experience, but for participating in the program, you get a really great discount on the Disney tickets!! (And parents can participate and join the class!!)

I hope we enjoy this one as much as the last one!! :cheer2:

That sounds like a lot of fun! I didn't even think about what other classes they have available.

Ok, so I have a silly Y.E.S. program question. Does the actual program have a cost? If so, do you still save money by doing the program and getting a ticket discount? It looks interesting! :thumbsup2

I hope this clss will be as fun & neat as the last one we did. But the best thing about this class, is that it's held inside with A/C :cloud9:

Last class was a lot of outdoor touring and it was very hot!

Yes, the class costs about $34 each, and is factored into the total cost of tickets. For example, I got the 5 day Magic Your Way tickets (one park per day)for $464 total (for 2 of us, with class costs added in). Regular cost of those tickets would be $615. They have different ticket options, such as you can get park hoppers added in, water parks, etc. It's a really great deal!

Only 3 more days till Disney!! :cool1:

I have so much to do in so little time!

This past weekend we celebrated DD's 18th Birthday!!! :cake:

We just had a small get-together at my place, since we had such a big party for graduation, just a couple of weekes ago.

Since it was my working weekend, we also celebrated early Father's Day, too.

Here's a few pictures:

Thank you! :grouphug:

Now, I can add another reason to celebrate.......

I passed the National Board of Pharmacy Certification Exam (for Technicians) !

I took the exam today, but only told a couple of people before hand. I didn't want to tell everybody, and "jinx" myself :rotfl: Or worse, fail the test and have to tell everybody... :rotfl2:

It was actually harder than I thought it would be. I studied some, and even thought I really need to spend more time studying first, before taking it. But I really wanted to take it before the trip, so that would be one less thing to worry about while on vacation!!!

I'm so glad I can now go on the trip, with no worries of school, studying, or tests!!!!
