Sept. 30/Oct. 1: We weren't scheduled to check in until tomorrow morning, but after driving on property to SOG/Contemporary to buy our passes, we didn't want to leave, so checked for the availability of checking in a night early. All systems go, so arrived in our room (Hawaii building, room 2504) around 4:30 or so in the afternoon. Great view of the castle!! Went to the lounge for snacks, then had dinner at Ohana. After dinner, Brian took the 3 oldest for a swim while I got Joel to sleep. Fireworks started at 8... Joel and I watched them from our room.... the others were on the beach. After fireworks, I was able to get Joel asleep. Then we all watched the Electrical Water Parade from our room before turning in for the night.

Got up Tuesday morning and had a light breakfast in the lounge, then took the boat to MK. This was the first day of the character saturation in the parks and there were several there just past the ticket turnstiles. We had to take our season pass vouchers that we got at SOG to Guest Relations before we could go through.... took us 30 minutes! We are FL residents, but reside in OH currently because of military posting. Our FL drivers' licenses have our OH address on them. These are the same licenses we used to get our season passes 2 years ago. But this time, the folks didn't want to give us our season passes. The CM called her manager in, who still didn't think we were eligible for the passes, but finally relented. Told us to bring PROOF next time. Sheesh....

After we finally got the passes and got into the park (wearing our tie-dyed shirts I made especially for the trip.... got lots of compliments on them!), we stopped to see Daisy Duck, Prince John, Stromboli, Gideon, and Pinocchio. Then we headed to the barber shop where Joel, Noah, and Emily got haircuts. Joel got a set of Mickey ears for his first haircut, and Noah opted for some blue hair gel and pixie dust. The barber also drew a blue Mickey head on the back of his head. He got compliments all day on his hair! Emily got about 6 inches cut off (much to my chagrin.... her lovely bangs she spent so much time growing out are now back to eyebrow level). The kids stoppe by the car barn after hair cuts and got to pet the horses and help give them a bath. Then we headed down to Tomorrowland. We walked onto the Tea Cups, then right on to Buzz Lightyear. Brian took Em and Noah to Alien Encounter while I wheeled the other two around a bit. Noah had been wanting to try this attraction for a while.... turned out he didn't like it! We headed to TL Speedway and waited in line about 10 minutes. Halle managed to scrape her knee while we were waiting, so we had to go to First Aid for her after the ride. Eli, a CM from TL Speedway, walked us there. Noah, Emily, and Brian walked through the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse next, while Halle and Joel saw Rafiki and Timon in Adventureland. We all walked right onto Aladdin's Carpets, then stopped in a shop where Emily found a costume she liked. Then walked on to PotC; Halle kept her eyes covered just about the entire time on this ride.

Decided we were ready for a break, so headed back to the room, meeting Baloo on the way. Had some snacks in the lounge, swam a bit, then got ready for our 5:35 PS at LTT. We monorailed over and just as we got off, the heavens opened in a big way. The shower slowed and stopped.... we were about 10 minutes late for our seating and were finally seated around 6 or a little after. The food was great; we especially enjoyed the dinner rolls. Finished up dinner around 7:15... got a large popcorn from the vendor in Liberty Square and the watched the fireworks. Took the launch back to the hotel, had snacks in the lounge, and watched the EWP from the lounge. Arrived back in the room to see the beds all nicely turned down and mints on the beds. We were in bed by 10.

Tomorrow... more MK!
