"Mom, Dad, 3 Kids & a Gingerbread Boy" Matty's Wish Trip December 10-18, 2009

Hold on ...... I finished my report while sorting all 1500 of my photos! Not everyone disappears! I just had to stop and give you a hard time. I don't think anyone realizes how time consuming trip reports are until you try to write one and do it justice. You are doing great and I will be here until it is finished. The best part is still to come!

I know I know......................you were the exception I did say 'recent' Wish Trippers though. You (and I) are "old" Wish Trippers at this point (hard to believe it was that long ago isn't it????). I think it was you and me and Stephanie and Chrissi planning back when I first came on wasn't it?

I can't thank you enough for sticking with me. And hanging around! I often wonder how long it will be before 90% of the people I've 'come to know' over the last 6 mos move on to daily life. I've still got this to finish, the 'poop' PTR, the 'poop' TR and then a PTR for our December trip. Looks like I'll be in and out for awhile

Come on, Pamela, you can do it!

WHAT is wrong with me huh??????? I told maroo today that perhaps subconciously I don't want to finish it because then it will truly be "all over". Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I was just calling out to those who will be leaving on their Wish trips in the next week or so. I had kind of promised it'd be done before they left. Oooooops


I go back and forth between wanting to post here to chat/reply and then thinking perhaps that I shouldn't. While it's fun (and of course so very polite to respond to those who've stopped by and taken the time to drop me a note) I figure I must be making some people MAD who see that the this TR has a new post, come on over to see the "new" installment" and then (like Melissa) find that's it's all just a big tease

Who knows they may just get so annoyed with me that they vow to ditch the Gingerbread Boy forever

Part II: "MVMCP Where a Gingerbread Boy's Wish Comes True"






ok.....................onward we go

Fortunately all my planning on the Disboards had led to the insider's scoop. Although Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party did not 'technically' start at 7 pm, our tickets will allow us admission starting at 4:00. Not wanting to miss a minute of the fun we leave Port Orleans French Quarter at alittle after 3:30 and arrive at the Magic Kingdom at 4 o'clock sharp.



Now some of the 'oldies' here may remember my scare back in November when I had somehow or another lost my MVMCP tickets But again, with all the knowledge here on the Dis I was calmed and assured there would be no worries. So with that info in mind we proceed to Guest Services to tell them of our plight. No problem. They look us up and reissue the tickets. All that worring for nothing!

Finally we secure our double stroller and we're off for some fun. First stop? Toontown!

I personally LOVE Mickey and Minnie's Country Houses. I was oh so saddened to hear that they will be gone for good with the expansion of Fantasyland So, of course, they become our number one priority and lots of pictures are taken to prove how very cute they truly were:

On the way out we find that the garden is as inviting as the interior decor:

After some discussion we decide to skip the Judges' Tent having already posed for px and snagged our autographs with the characters in attendance this night. Olivia, my BIG girl, however has suddenly decided that the princesses and the fairies are a must see. What Could this really be???? I am giddy with enthusiasm at having the opportunity to witness my "little" girl revealed

We make our way to the line. The LINE?????? OMG I have never seen such a line The wait is actually listed as 80 minutes!!!!! Talk about utter crazyiness Fortunately for us of course we do have our magic button (PHEW) and our wait is magically reduced to a reasonable 20. Now that's what I call service!

Minnie's house was a mad house as I recall. It's alittle easier to get good px of Mickey's since they rope off the rooms (although I'd love to jump the rope for a quick game of ping pong). Our Mickey's Milestones Tour in a couple of weeks (did I just say that) is supposed to include a tour of M&M's houses before Toon Town is even open. You can trust that I'll be taking boatloads of px!!! Last chance I'm sure

Just posting to say what a great TR this is Like I said in my PM, Tyler has been peeking over my shoulder while I'm reading it and is VERY interested in all of your pictures lol He wants me to name each character for him, including the kiddos! So we feel like we know the kids pretty well now.

I made our first ADR yesterday at Crystal Palace but I'm wondering now if I should make reservations at Sci Fi? It looks like a place the boys would like a lot. We are going to be at DHS on the first Friday of SWW so I'm thinking we will definitely need a res if its not too late already!

Thanks for all the detailed info on IOA/US. My mom has said all along that she thinks everyone, or at least the older boys will love it the best and now I'm thinking maybe she's right! I think even my little ones will love it there. Do you recommend making lunch reservations there too? I've been thinking we would just play it by ear while we are there for food, but now I'm thinking maybe I need to plan ahead a little more...

Your boys will love Sci-Fi. Sitting in a car to eat lunch or dinner is fun. My three kids loved it!

We did enjoy the Sci-Fi but I must confess I made all my reservations based on atmosphere not food . We could eat PBJ 3 meals a day, every day and be happy. I have heard some less than stellar comments about the food offerings at Sci-Fi (tasted great to us ) so if food is your thing you might want to pull up some reviews. The atmosphere though definately gets the

OH yay Someone else who appreciates US/IOA! There is so little love around here for that place, Just breaks my heart We (that's all six of us) absolutely loved it, as much if not more so than some of the Disney parks. Even my 4 year old had a blast. There is actually a post on the Wish Trippers Unite thread from me awhile back that talks about which rides at US/IOA could be appropriate for young children/height requirements etc. I just kept hearing so many people talk about how they thought there was too little for their 4-6year old to do. There's alot of misleading information out there. If you want I'll search it out and let you know what page of that thread it's on (it's quite a ways back now) As far as restarants I'm not sure about reservations as we just did the counter service. They do offer a Superhero character breakfast though which could be a hoot if your boys are, or have ever been, into those guys.

Just a head's up! I ended up adding to the last installment in Post #467 above (about the start of the MVMCP) rather than starting a new post down here. Just seemed like it'd be too disjointed that way. It wasn't a good place to break but I was "otherwise engaged" and couldn't continue the other day.

Just wanted to let you know I'm getting there. And to make myself feel better I am now marking my progress in hours rather than in days. So while I may STILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL be on Day 8.............................. I am now at about 6 pm!!!!!

Now that I am all caught up you can feel free to finish this thing! You're going to have a new TR and a PTR to write! Love the latest updates - the Cessna, the parks and the smiles! We are not doing a December trip but are doing a combo trip in a few weeks (check out my ticker).
