Just wanted to let you know that I have enjoyed your reviews and the pics of your boys, they are adorable and very animated !!

I'm hoping your review for Boulangerie Patisserie is good since my DD16 wants to try it out for lunch one day. We normally eat at Les Chefs but I told her I wanted something new this trip so she is very sad that she won't be speaking French with the CMs there. I told her she could order our pastries in French, LOL.

Thanks so much and keep up with wonderful work, I enjoy the ones with lots of pics and details.

Thank you very much! :goodvibes Animated - that's a great word for my boys!

Boulangerie Patisserie is coming up next! :thumbsup2

Boulangerie Patisserie

We were at Epcot and it was getting close to lunchtime and I just figured we we would be going to Electric Umbrella since we went there last year and really liked it. On previous trips we had gone to Sunshine Seasons and Boulangerie Patisserie and thought they were just okay. So when I mentioned Electric Umbrella the kids said that they didn't want to go there. :confused3 And when I thought about it I really didn't want anymore greasy burgers & fries either. We were near Canada in the World Showcase and didn't want to have to walk too far. And with the kids being so picky that really leaves most of World Showcase out. So I suggested Boulangerie Patisserie to DH and he said - isn't that the place we didn't really like? And I said yes, but it's not too far away and it has outdoor seating (it was really nice out that day) so let's give it another try!

So we headed there! There was no one in line and there were plenty of seats outside. :yay: We asked the CM what we got with a meal on the DDP and she said one sandwich item and one pasty/dessert item and a drink. I got the "Ham and Cheese Croissant $3.25" and the "Strawberry Tart $3.95" and a strawberry smoothie. She heated up my sandwich, I'm not sure why, I thought it came cold. It was pretty good and the strawberry tart was excellent! The smoothie was pretty terrible, not at all like the yummy one I had at CBR. DH got the "Ham and Cheese Sandwich $5.25" and the strawberry tart. He really liked his sandwich, which came cold. He also really liked the strawberry tart. The kids of course don't eat ham or any kind of lunch meat. So they both got a "Plain Croissant $1.95" as their sandwich and DS9 got "Cake of the Day $3.65" - which was some kind of chocolate. And DS7 got a "Chocolate Chip Cookie $2.25". They liked their plain croissants and loved their desserts!

We were able to go outside and find a table right away and enjoy the beautiful day! :goodvibes

Oh my gosh, those tarts look amazing! Everything looks HUGE!! Glad you had a good experience. Always looking for good CS at Epcot. We've done Sunshine Seasons and didn't see what everyone else raved about. And Electric Umbrella is fine but pretty generic.

Hi Shelly,
So glad you enjoyed Big River Grille. Will waiting to get into Beaches and Cream, the food smelled so good there. DH and I were saying we would have to eat there next trip.

Hey!:snooty:

we always grab dessert at the Patisserie-- but have never eaten sandwiches there.

Mark likes to go b/c it reminds him of living in Belgium growing up--
and it's one of our favorite places to sit and relax.

Glad you went and liked it. I'll have to see if there's anything we might like to have for lunch the next time we're there!

Looking forward to Le Cell!:goodvibes

Oh, and dd16 wanted me to ask if you knew if the cheese plate could be subbed for the sandwich? She said if not she's getting it anyway, lol, but she wanted to know if they said anything about it. Teenagers are so.................... delightful !!!

Yes, it was a prefect 80 degree sunny day and we were lucky there was an empty table outside at lunchtime! :goodvibes

Hmm. . . I don't know. We didn't ask about the cheese plate. I don't see why it couldn't be subbed really. It only costs less than a dollar more than the ham & cheese sandwich. Good luck!

LeCellier

I had lucked out and got the well sought after 6:00pm dinner ADR at LeCellier! But while we were at Epcot that day we thought that maybe we should have made that ADR a little earlier. We still needed to pack everything that night because our ME bus was picking us up at 10:00am the next day. So we went to LeCellier earlier in the day to see if we could get it moved up a bit. They said they were completely booked, and I wasn't surprised from the crowds at Epcot that day. They said all I could do was come back around 4:10 and see if anyone had not shown up for their 4:00 ADR. So that's just what we did. And we were able to be seated shortly after 4:30pm. Once we were seated I wondered why so many people were outside waiting when I could see 5 empty tables from where we were seated. :confused3

We got a nice corner booth! Which was great since the tables at LeCellier are so close together. I ordered the "New York Strip Steak - with bercy butter, balsamic red onions, watercress, and roasted Yukon potatoes, $34.99" and it was great! DH got the "Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - with wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb butter sauce $34.99" and loved it! DS9 I guess thought he hadn't had enough pizza yet and ordered it again! :rotfl: DS7 didn't want anything on the menu and told me that he wasn't having anything! So I just ordered plain pasta for him which was spaghetti when it came. The kids both also got apple slices with brown sugar on them for their side. And of course we all enjoyed the famous LeCellier breadsticks. You get 3 kinds - multi-grain, pretzel, and regular. DS7 could have just had them for his meal! The kids also got chocolate milkshakes for their drinks and loved them.

Onto the best part - dessert! Last year I had the Campfire Smores and it was the best ever!! So that was what I had been waiting for all week! I just looked and I don't see it on the AllEars of DIS menu anymore. :confused3 It is still on the menu at the restaurant. DH decided to try it this time too! It is so good that I looked up the recipe when we got back and made it last night! It just wasn't as good here as it is there though. ;)

The kids had the make your own sundaes!

Great review for Le Cellier!! I have eaten there once, but DH never has. He has always wanted to so we are really excited!!

Those nachos look so good at the BRG
We have actually been tossing around there and beaches and Cream for our next trip. I might have to push more for the BRG.
Great updates. :thumbsup2
Plus those Strawberry tarts look so tasty. I am glad it was better for you this time around.

I think LeCellier should include a salad. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Wow, we noticed a lot of empty tables as well, even though the host said they were completely booked. :confused3

I couldn't believe the number of people just walking up at 7 pm for dinner (we went twice~once for lunch and once for dinner :scared1: ) and being upset when they couldn't get in. The hosts were always very pleasant about it, just saying they usually book up months in advance.

We all loved LeCellier! I'm with your DS, I could make a meal just out of that pretzel bread!

Yummy pictures Shelly. We will definitely have to try that place next May. Thanks for sharing your review. - Sea
