Mom and Dad and 2 Picky Kids do the DDP ~ With Lots of Pictures!

Sorry about TH and CoD Shelly. :guilty:

We are trying TH on our AK day - basically just to get us in the AK a little early :rolleyes1 I hope that we can find some stuff that we like - if not, no biggie. The DxDP is very forgiving - you'll never run out of credits. :rotfl:

I wanted to try the Plaza this trip - but now I don't know if we would like it very much.... We are definately going to try Casey's after your review! DH is drooling over those mini corn dogs - lol :laughing:

Tusker House wasn't bad. I'm just not a big breakfast eater and we all like Crystal Palace better.

Cooke's - :sick:

Plaza was pretty good! You should give it a try sometime.

Hope you like Casey's!

popcorn:: Waiting for more...

:confused: What's next?

:dance3: Maybe it will be here soon...

popcorn:: Still waiting...

:flower3: Thanks.

:rotfl:

Jo

Sorry, the day kind of got away from me!

More soon, I promise!! :yay:

Just another quick review of the CBR food court ~ Sunday Jan 25th ~ The kids had the Islands of the Caribbean Pirate Adventure Cruise from 9:30am-11:30am. They were getting lunch on the cruise - which consisted of PB&J uncrustables, gummy bears, gold fish, and a drink. So DS7 ate gummy bears & gold fish! :rotfl: So anyway, DH and I decided to just grab a quick lunch at the CBR food court around 11:00 so we would be done when they got done with the cruise and we would all be ready to head out for our day.

DH was so happy with his bacon double cheeseburger the day before that he decided to get it again. With fries and pineapple upside down cake, again! I decided to try the cheeseburger and got pasta salad with it and a giant chocolate chip cookie. All very good! :thumbsup2 And I got a strawberry-banana smoothie to drink, which was included as a drink with my meal on the DDP! And it was very yummy! We sat at a table right outside of OPR and ate and waited for the kids boat to get back. Very nice time.

Goofy's Candy Co.

After lunch at CBR we decided to head back to DTD since I wasn't feeling well when we went that Friday. We stopped on the way out at Goofy's Candy Co. and grabbed a few snacks to take back to the room! We usually get the pretzel rods dipped in chocolate and rolled in candy. But the line to have those made was huge! So I told the kids to each pick something already made out of the case. I got a chocolate covered strawberry. It was delicious! DS7 got a Mickey head sugar cookie. He loved it! And DS9 decided to get a bag of cotton candy! :upsidedow All those yummy things to choose from and the kid gets cotton candy. :rotfl: And DH didn't want anything. :confused3

Each was around $3 and were a snack credit on the DDP!

Welcome! :goodvibes I'm glad you are enjoying the reviews. I hope I'm not being too blunt! :rotfl:

Big River Grille dinner, Boulangerie Patisserie lunch, LeCellier dinner, and CBR food court breakfast still to come! :thumbsup2

I'm really enjoying your reviews! I have 2 picky kiddos as well and this is the first time they will be on the DDP. DH and I did it last year for our anniversary trip and I loved it - DH isn't so much into the food, so he couldn't care less, but I thought it was great. I am a bit worried about the kids though . . . looks like yours made out just fine, so hopefully mine will too!

Big River Grille and Brewing Works

I didn't make a dinner ADR for this evening. We wanted to go to either Big River Grille or Beaches & Cream, but neither of them take ADR's. So I figured we'd just see how the day went and what we were in the mood for! DH and I ended up deciding on Big River Grille. For 2 reasons I guess, we thought B&C might be a lot like the Plaza with mostly sandwiches and ice cream and we had just been at the Plaza the night before and because we had gone to check out the Swan hotel and BRG was a shorter walk! BRG is right along the waterfront on the Boardwalk. They have indoor and out door seating. We heard that you have to go early if you don't want to wait, because of the no ADR thing. So we went around 4:30 and we could see that they were not busy at all. We asked the CM at the podium if she thought they would be busy in about a half hour. She said - I really can't say (and she said it not very nicely!). A nicer CM standing behind her gave me the - just ignore her look - and said - you should be fine to come back in 30 minutes. So we did a little shopping on the Boardwalk and came back closer to 5:00. Still not busy and got right in. The kids wanted to sit outside, and it would have been really fun, but that side of the Boardwalk was shaded by then and I was afraid it would get chilly fast, so we chose to sit inside. We got a nice table by the window overlooking the Boardwalk and the water. We were practically the only ones in the area where we were seated. That was a nice change from all the crowded restaurants we had been in all week! Our waitress came right away and was great! On the way in I saw at least 3 people with a huge plate of beef nachos that looked great. I looked at the menu and it was an appetizer. I told our waitress that we were on the basic DDP and asked if I could get those nachos as my dinner instead of an appetizer. She said that they really aren't supposed to, but she would work something out. DH laughed after she left and said - of course they can give you an appetizer for your dinner it costs a whole lot less, she just wants you to think she is doing you a favor so we will leave her a big tip!! :rotfl: And he was probably right, but we left her a big tip anyway because she was so friendly and efficient! So I ordered the beef nachos, which I can't find on an online menu, but I'm pretty sure they were around $12-13. And they were HUGE!! And very good. I felt like I was eating forever and the pile of nachos wasn't getting any smaller! DH got the "New York Strip - USDA Choice New York Strip steak, served with garlic mashed potatoes and shrimp and vegetables $27.99". He liked his dinner as well. DS9 ordered the "Grilled Cheese - grilled American cheese on kid bread $4.50", he got chips with it. DS7 of course didn't like anything on the menu. :sad2: So I had to ask for a Grilled Cheese without the cheese! The waitress laughed and said that was fine. A few minutes after she left we heard the cook yell out from the back - IS THIS A GRILLED CHEESE WITH NO CHEESE??? :lmao: DH and I got a good laugh!

They only have 2 options for dessert. DH and I got the "New York Cheesecake* - traditional NY style cheesecake served with raspberry sauce $6.50" and the kids got the "Chocolate Confusion - chocolate mousse layered between Oreo brownie cake with chocolate icing and chocolate chips $6.50". They were both very good!

BRG looks great! We really want to eat at BWI one night just so we can walk around and enjoy the Boardwalk for a while, but none of the restaurants really stand out to me except FF, but I don't think that is worth 2 TS.

I may now have to give BRG a try! Thanks for the review!

Oh man, those nachos look GOOD and probubly such a nice change from all of the disney food!! Keep the reviews coming!!

Yes, we really liked BRG. It was a nice change. Different food and then we enjoyed some time strolling the Boardwalk afterwards! :goodvibes

Those nachos are huge! Was the beef shredded or ground (hamburger)? I can't figure it out from the pic...probably because my brain wants it to be shredded. :laughing:

Yummmmmm, Those nachos look incredible!! We love the whole Boardwalk atmosphere! Didn't make it there this last time, but we usually do Spoodles, but I will definately try Big River next time!!

I'm not sure. . . I think it was shredded. :confused3 It was good! So was the cheese that was melted and drizzled over the nachos! :thumbsup2

We really like the Boardwalk atmosphere too. :cloud9: We have gone there on the last couple of trips when we didn't have anywhere else to be for while and it was nice to just relax and take it all in, because most times we are rushing around the parks and to make it to ADR's and forget to do that!

Awww- I'm so glad you made it to BRG--- and enjoyed it too!:lovestruc

And Guess what... popcorn::
We ate at the exact same spot as you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lmao:

Not kidding!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:

Just wanted to let you know that I have enjoyed your reviews and the pics of your boys, they are adorable and very animated !!

I'm hoping your review for Boulangerie Patisserie is good since my DD16 wants to try it out for lunch one day. We normally eat at Les Chefs but I told her I wanted something new this trip so she is very sad that she won't be speaking French with the CMs there. I told her she could order our pastries in French, LOL.

Thanks so much and keep up with wonderful work, I enjoy the ones with lots of pics and details.
