Haven't posted in awhile. Haven't been on for awhile. This is sadly funny or funnily sad. I teach in a high school. Over the decades, the school has inexpensively expanded, adding rooms where there used to be courtyards with the only ventilation being circulating fans. We have AC in the warm months and heat in the cold months, but if you have a cool morning that turns into a warm day, you're going to be hot and if you have a hot morning that gets cool, you're going to be cold. I don't see the light of day all day which gets to me after awhile. I'd rather give up AC for a window but that's another story.

In the summer it seems that to save money, they don't circulate the air as they are required to when school is in session. In fact, I'm not sure the air is circulated after the kids are gone at the end of the day. I know the room gets really quiet. When we came back, we noticed a lot of mildew on books and ceiling tiles and walls.

This morning, three of the rooms contained dehumidifiers. They then disappeared around first period. You can see fuzzy stuff (that's the technical term) appearing from around the grids in the ceiling tiles. Most of us have been sick this year with a nagging cold. One of us gets migraines but didn't have a single one over the summer. Guess what.

The kids are worse. I could go through a box of tissues a day if I didn't hide them.

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. One of our elementary schools was relocated to a church a couple years ago when some teacher developed illnesses. Nothing was ever found. I wonder sometimes what they look for.
