"Modifying" reservations?

Can I do this myself? Just use chat? Or submit and wait? What "this" is is that I currently have reservations from the 15th through the 25th. Now I made airline reservations, and can only go from the 17th through the 24th. So I'm dropping 3 nights, no hotel change or anything else. So how do I do this?

From your DVC Dashboard, expand the reservation in question and then click "View or Modify Details". Once the reservation loads, click "Modify" for the resort/dates. On the next page, change the dates accordingly and continue like you are making a new reservation. The change will not take affect until you've gone through each subsequent screen.

That’s a good way to re-allocate points from other cancelled bookings. You can choose the ones expiring first.

Just remember if less than 30 days, those dropped room points go into holding.

With one caveat, modifying the reservation on line as mentioned above is fine, but you also have the option to use chat or call MS. The caveat: I am assuming you are not talking about a room reservation that is in the middle of Sep 2022. If it is a Sep 2022 reservation, then making a change to fewer nights will mean that all points coming out of the reservation and not being used in the new one will go into holding.

It's been done, ended up with chat. I was going along just fine by myself following the instructions that erinm gave me. But when I got to the new, modified dates, it didn't give me any option like "Verify" and so it just kept reverting to the original reservation. Since "Chat" was available, I used that, and Rex took care of it in a few minutes. And I've already checked my dashboard to verify that the changes were made and since it is more than 30 days out, the extra points are back to my account.
