Modifying Reservation - Less than 30 days away

I'm looking to add a day to our OKW reservation. I know it probably won't happen, but wanted to make sure I understand the process now as well as for in the future. I have SS booked. They are both 14 points. If OKW comes available can I make a lateral move with the points and nothing goes into holding? Or do you have to cancel and re-book so the points do go into holding? Does the waitlist work the same as if you were to stalk and manually do it? Thank you for your help!

Is the new reservation the same or more points than the existing one? Basically, the points go into holding but they're re-used immediately for the new reservation. As long as the new reservation uses more points, it's irrelevant.

The new reservation is the same. They're both 14. Can you modify online or is it best to call Member Services to make this switch should it become available?

You can't modify online. You'll have to call or use my trick. But I'm not sure how well it works with holding points.
