If I want to modify a reservation that is greater than 31 days away, I want to drop the first night, can I do it online or must I call MS?:confused:Thanks in advance. 😁Have not have the occasion to ever do it.

@kes601 So if when I modify on line, the rest of the days that I already have booked are not available, I am out of luck? Another words if I booked a 5 night reservation and want to drop the first night..I go into the reservation indicate modify dates, then indicate 4 nights… if those 4 nights are nit available, I am out of luck?

They have to be available as you already have them booked.

ETA: To clarify, I am not saying the nights have to be available. I'm saying they ARE available to you because you already have them booked.

@kes601 So it is not as easy as dropping the first night or last? The whole rest of those days must be available correct?

Yes, it is as easy as dropping the first night. You ALREADY have the entire stay booked. The others nights have to be available as you already have them. Think of it like this. You have a carton of 12 eggs. You don't want one for whatever reason. You throw it away. You already had the other 11 eggs so nobody else can have them.
  • Go to your dashboard
  • Click on the reservation
  • Click view or modify details
  • Click modify next to the dates
  • Select your new dates
  • Click check availability
  • Expand the calendar next to your current room type (as you are modifying)
  • Click Continue
  • Go through the process
If this makes you uncomfortable then I would suggest just calling MS.

When you modify, what you have booked stays booked for you. It doesn’t matter what else shows if you search.

That is why you want to modify and not cancel and rebook.
