Modifying a reservation on line - don’t want to screw this up

I currently have a reservation at the GFV checking in on October 3rd and checking out October 10th. I would like to split my stay and spend the last 3 nights at the Riviera if something opens up. My concern is if I go on line and say I want to modify the current reservation and select a check in date of october 7th and a checkout date of October 10th and the riviera is available and I book it will it drop my 10/3 to 10/7 dates at the GFV?

If you have not booked it as two parts, then you are correct, you will lose nights if you just say modify.

The best thing to do if you can, if you have the points, is to try and book the nights of the 7th to the 10th at VGF again, and then change the original so you hsve two stays.

If nothing it still available you’d have to try and book RIV as it’s own and then drop the nights, if you don’t have the points to do this, you’d have to put in the wait list, but call MS to do it and have them note that you want it to only replace those specific nights,

Online doesn’t allow for that aspect.

Awesome I didn’t even know that was an option(if you called in) is there any risks doing this as MS need to drop days instead of replacing an entire reservation?

When MS puts in the note for the waitlist, it ensures that the CM who actually process the waitlist when it matches, will know to adjust the original to just replace the days of the wait list and not the entire thing,

Online, it gives you the option to replace reservations, but no option to replace only part. So, if you do it online and choose replace, it replaces all the days.
